Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I know the risk factors are much higher for sedentary, overweight individuals but I'm wondering if my Covid may have increased the chances that I'd develop a clot in my leg. If the diagnostics show I do actually have a clot and I have to go on blood thinners, can I continue to train lightly or should I expect some significant time off the bike?

After 10 years of virtually no health issues and no constraints on my riding other than life and saddle sores, this last month has been absolute hell for my psyche.
Positive thought for you moving forward. 2020 can head straight to the dumpster, but it still needs to be finished off.

As opposed to much of the bicycle repair/maintenance, this is pretty straightforward and sensible.

With a silver bullet. Then a stake through the heart. Then cut its head off. Then burn it, and scatter the ashes to the 4 winds.

It's the only way to be sure.

Patching tubes? Or ramming an icepick through your temple?

Doesn't help that I got all excited about Richmond having an IndyCar race return to our speedway, but of course that was canceled as well. One more thing, but small fish compared to the other issues life has dealt us this year.

Either might be sensible, depending on the circumstances.

Richmond is as close to Pikes Peak Intl. Raceway as it gets (or vice-versa), and the racing there was killer. Hopefully next year.

You should definitely ask your doctor about the interaction between your particular thinner and alcohol. I’ve been taking Warfarin since 1990. Had my aortic valve replaced with a mechanical one. Alcohol doesn’t hit harder, but it can affect your clotting level.

Fewer tools needed for the icepick/temple thing. And probably quicker, too!
