There's a very powerful human desire to not get ripped off and it leads to ads like these:

AMS Barracuda - $490 (St Paul, MN)

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...3626640420201/

"AMS barracuda, missing front tire.
ConditionUsed - Good"

It seems like every time I see a Barracuda they're really expensive. Do they have a cult following? Are people getting their prices off of Budget Bicycle Center listings? If this was $49 it wouldn't sell given that it's rusty, minus a front wheel, components are completely scuffed up, grimy, with a photo shoot from someone's torture basement.

According to the ad, the frame is made of carbon fiber. And where's the Gucci print on the saddle material?

Rare dan/ed mountain bike - $750 (Holly springs)

"Very rare 1996 dan/ed mountain bike. Lots of cool features. Solid tires.
Selling as i got it. It is in very nice shape. It is missing the rubber block that acts as the rear suspension. Easily made or you can probably order it from the company.
$750
No shipping
No trades
No paypal
No electric payments
Cash in person only"

https://raleigh.craigslist.org/bik/d...962319801.html

(I;m going with "Wacky" on this one: price, stipulations, missing rubber block. For $750 I do want air in my tires. I'm likely wrong. I often am. I'm used to it. Dorian,)

Interesting bike with the AMP Research Concept fork. Looks almost like some one-off.

I can't believe the owner has functioning eyes. Or any sense of honesty or integrity. Who will be the one to tell him the fork is bent to hell and back? Or that it should just be donated to a co-op, saving him the effort of trying to sell it (because it ain't gonna sell)?

Not to be a stickler... But I'm going to be a stickler. Cantiflex was the bulged 531 frame tubing that Bates used, and the double-raked fork pattern was called diadrant.

Vintage Goodyear Cruiser Project - $60

"Antique / Vintage Cruiser Bike- needs to be fully assembled. New Wheels and Tires. Manufactured by GoodYear."

(May be worth it for the parts alone? I've been wanting to put an aircraft propeller on my Ghibli since I got it. And what's not to love about that saddle?!)
