New sport bike-why would I even want disk brakes?

I prefer disc brakes mainly for 3 reasons:
1) Performance - simply better
2) You don't get to wear your 2000$ rims by applying pressure on its sidewall constantly. Plus, disc brake wheels looks better IMO
3) Overall look. I find it more attractive (perhaps it's a generational thing). I'd rather have the black rotors though.

2. Never buying rims that expensive, looked at Enves till I found out they don't recommend certain tires due to tearing sidewalls which seems like a rim issue to me.
3. 100% agree. Looking at building some velocity Ailerons or a pair of lightbike rims and the no brake track, stealth look is the the best.

Has anyone on this thread ever worked on a real live pro bike, as raced by a pro? They are not all new daily, they are nowhere near perfect. They are used hard and used up.
Basic requirement to be a pro team mechanic is to volunteer for the position and then remain awake while working crazy hours. I have known a good half dozen team mechanics who would never be allowed to touch my bike for any reason.
