Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo Bike

Only single photo to go on. Price is $100 Canadian. I swore I'd buy no more bikes that don't fit but these are supposed to be very good and I would be more focused on the parts set and possibly the panniers (if it has both sides).

Does anyone know the year for this beast? Seller says in ad purchased 1998 so depending on time of year could be 97 or 98 or 99. Seller also says he paid $1300 BITD which strikes me as high......

I believe that they came with Deore XT derailleurs and a Sugino crank but a lot can change over the years and I don't recognize mountain bike components from the drive side, let alone the NDS and not sure what red flags these have if any. I would have thought that by 1998 they would've had front suspension and when I google them some examples show forks and some don't.

Could be an '88. Photocopied pic is marginal but at least confirms DT decal (p. 12):

Yes. Early Fisher is nice stuff. Deore group alone is worth the asking price, and you've got fenders and a rack in addition.

+1. This is either a 1987 or 1988 model, based of the combination of thumb shifters and chain stay mounted U-brake. These were nice, highly regarded, mid-range bicycles for their day. Components should be Shimano Deore, one step down from Deore XT but still very good components in their day. One of these was on my short list in 1988. The only real drawback was the chain stay mounted rear brake which, for me, was the deal breaker. The Deore U-brake itself is fine but in that location it collects mud and is hard to adjust. If you can live with that and there are no major issue this is a good deal. Still, it looks far too small for your personal use.

Unsure if you collect serial numbers for these but 61312 for this one.
Drove down and grabbed it for $80. You're right. Definitely wouldn't fit me but thought my oldest might like it. Seems a bit short for him too. I'll clean it and see what it's like......

Does that have the evolution HS? If so I'd really check it out before buying it. I like the larger diameter 1 1/4" HS but always thought the stack height was too short.

I had a ‘96 HKEK. Paid around $400-500 US new. It had LX and STX I believe. Also had a front suspension. Good bike, stolen off my front porch in 2002. You got a good deal.

@Bianchigirll and Spaghetti Legs

The beast sits in my shed as we speak but no room to move it into my garage as I have a Fuji on the stand already that I'm building for a winter bike. Should have the Fuji up and running this week and then will post photos of the Fisher. It's a lot rougher than I'd have liked but I'd driven there and figured it'd be something to do and bikes always get better with a little work......

Sorry

Sorry, this is not polite to do, but I need to have at least 10 posts to submit photos to a posting on this forum. My posting here is not helpful. My apologies.
