I'm going to cheat and post two rides. The first picture is from Monday (March 22). Seven of us are on a 64 mile/4200 feet of climbing ride. Here are four of us after the first major ascent -- 1.5 miles at a constant 10%. While the picture may indicate otherwise, a gray beard is not a prerequisite to being in our group. That's me in green/yellow.

This second picture is from yesterday, a 40-miler with some of my usual group and some of another group. We combined for the first part of our ride.

Spring is sprunging here in North/Central California, but sleeves and windbreakers are still needed at the beginning of rides.

I got kind of a late start today as I spent all morning marking the roads for the April Fools Ride. Got on the bike at about 3pm and rode 40 miles of country roads. Beautiful sunny day in the mid 60s. The headwind was a bit rough at times, but the miles seemed to come easy.

26 miles on my first club ride of the year. Too many headwinds/sidewinds. Not enough tailwinds. Upper 50's and partly cloudy.

39.9 very windy day. Temp at start was 37* and 48* when I got home. The wind was a killer today at times gusting to 25MPH and did drop my avg. speed to just 10.4 MPH.

First ride of the year on my road bike. I have been riding my hybrid to keep somewhat in shape, but I did not ride that in over a week. It has been over 4 months since I last took a ride on my road bike so I feel pretty rusty. The temp was in the low 40s (F) with a wind of 15 gusting to 22, so for me not the greatest weather but at least it was bright and sunny. Just a quick (for me) 10 miles on hilly terrain.

Today was the first climb of the year. Wanted to put in 40 miles but time was not on my side, I did get 30 in. The climb was a moderately steep 1000', I needed to drop into the granny, usually later in the season I can do this hill in the middle ring. It was good to get some climbing in - now that I have one down, the rest won't seem that bad.

Today the Riverside bike Club rode from Riverside to Redlands for the start of the Women's Pro Sunset ride and the finish of the Mens 50-60 year old road race. Fun ride with 1200 feet of climbing and a good race to watch at the middle of the ride. Those old guys racing make me feel just a little inadequate. 60 to 69 years old and still able to average about 21MPH for 45 minutes in in a tight pack. It was just another perfect day her in the I.E. 75 with a slight breeze. Finished with a ride back home from downtown 12 miles 1284 feet of climbing. Total of 67 miles.

Rained all morning, but I put the mtb in the back of the truck and took off for the local state park. When I got there it had stopped raining but the wind was hell. Did my usual 14 mile loop with a whole butt-load of climbing. Now I'm glad I went instead of staying home.

12.5 miles against a cold wind off the ocean. Chain came off on the way out. Need to adjust the limit screw on the small chain ring.
Not the best ride but better than the trainer.

I did 21 miles on my Eisentraut TT bike. Just got a set of bull horn bars and TT brakes. So I was trying it out. This is the third ride of the year and it felt great especially since I don't use a trainer. Some good winds. I may need to raise the seat .5 inches.

Five of us were out on a rain-shortened 43-miler. Our leader was sadistic and took us up 4 roads with the word "hill" in their name. Here's the first one. This picture actually shows the steepness.

1 hour on my 73' Super Course. Weather conditions improved from the time I left the driveway until the last turn of the crank once back home. This week is going to be a great one, high 70's by the end of the week. Graveyard Practice Crit Ride with some riding buddies tomorrow evening, pain is in our future. Controversial discussion here: https://www.xtranormal.com/watch/6332697/

I rode the regular 30 mile Tuesday club ride today. Due to a mixup at the start, I missed the B group start by a couple of minutes so I rode alone for the whole ride except near the end when the three fastest A group riders caught me.
This was my first ride with the new Garmin unit. The heart rate data was all hosed up at the beginning, but it looks more reasonable later on. It was probably because the unit was still searching for satellites when I started riding. I'm sure the 27% max grade data point was bogus. It came in the middle of a steep section of hill which otherwise registered 14%.
This was a fairly hard ride by my standards. A few years ago when I weighed 30 lbs more, I felt good any time I did this loop in under two hours. So today's 1:52 was not bad.

Rode the regular Tuesday evening ride from the local bike shop. I got dropped quickly after the warmup on the way up the hill and dropped quickly on the way back down the hill. I might have lost as much time going down as riding up. Oh well. The pace was led by 3 Cat 1 riders so it's no wonder I was off the back in no time. Ride was a little over 25 miles with 1600' of climbing in 1:30 ride time for me. The Cat 1s were probably 20 minutes faster.

Rode 51.5 miles this morning. Temp was 33* at start and warmed up to 48* when I finished the ride. Very windy which was from the South mostly so it wasn't bad despite blowing constant 15MPH. Tomorrow's temp should hit the low 70's but breezy.

Rode to and from work yesterday. (18 miles total) That was the highlight of the day - started the day on a clear liquid diet to begin a colonoscopy prep. Started in on the laxatives after I got home. Yum!
The exam was this morning - no problems.......................there will not be a separate Colonoscopy Thread.

Our first 70F+ day of the year, and OH, YES I DID!

Just because I knew the kidlets were wanting to get out and stretch, I decided to forgo my preferred 'scenic route' commute home; went straight home, gathered them up, and we went out together, the three of us... for almost two hours! Nothing fast, of course, my lil nephew is a very skinny 7, but he held up like a champ! We did a loop through an adjoining neighborhood, a sprawling nursing home complex that has paved trails around it for walkers/wheelchairs, and went through the next neighborhood, as well. Then, we cut off and went to a local park. I figure the little legs got between 7-1/2 and 8 miles tonight.

I also had a great after work ride and enjoyed near 70 degree warmth. Just 17 miles over an hour, but it was great.

41 miles under sunny sky with 63 degree temps and a fair wind. Workout included 5 x 12 min Z4 intervals, dove into the pain bucket especially when riding into the wind. It has to be a mental thing. I was riding over a 6 mile loop and when riding with the wind at Z4 it was easy, then when into the wind it was a struggle even though the HR was the same.

10 miles on super-busy town roads with lots of traffic and no shoulder for the most part.
25 miles on the MUP.

I had more close calls and near-death experiences on the MUP by far.
