Vintage racks

Why not a thread about old racks for our old bikes?

I've got this one that has an Arnold Schwinn, Chicago, sticker underneath the rear semi-clear red bumper stuff. I have no idea how old it is nor what it originally came off of. I've been hanging onto it deciding if I'll ever use it and what I'll put it onto.

The other pic is of a few others hanging from the ceiling.

You know, the thing is...vintage racks are often pretty, but they're usually not strong enough for my purposes (I'm mostly car-free, so I'm carrying pretty much everything on there, from groceries to building supplies). Unless you're talking about a traditional Dutch rack, which I really wish I had. Are there any other vintage racks that won't bend with Wald baskets, carrying a sack of concrete on each side?

Nice Schwinn rack, in any case.

I have had a couple like that, both of mine came off domestic market Japanese city bikes that had made their way to the wilds of NC. Don't recall what happened to the racks or the bikes. But they both had head lights mounted on them at the time I got them.

I don't know much about the rack, but I think it looks great on my Schwinn World Voyageur. The rack does have a sticker on it that reads "made in England."

Since the bike is vintage, 1964 Moulton/Huffy, the racks which are integral, are also vintage.
