Gravel “Mullet” Bike..... The OTHER Mullet
Not the 10-50t cassette w. MTB derailleur mullet, but the 29er front, 27.5 rear mullet:
So on a 29” I can run a 2.25 front and 2.0 rear depending on the tire but with 27.5 I can go 2.1-2.2. I spent less than $100 on the rear wheel + tire since I also got it to replace a spare wheel.
I primarily run the 29er setup now but if I need the rear wheel worked on, or I just wanna screw around, the 27.5 rear is a fun time.

Tire clearance is most certainly maxed out now and luckily I was able to push this to “drop bar 29er” territory. Funny how I wanted to sell this bike nine months ago 😬

Very nice bike. Looking to build up something similar. Is that an MTB rear mech with road shifters?
What sort of crankset is that? MTB? How did you get this to work?
Thanks!

I love it.
I do something similar, but opposite. As I need a cush and traction in the front, I'll put my big tire (54mm) in the front (for floatation) and my small tire (40mm) on the rear (speed and low rolling resistance).
Another benefit from going to wider tires and going to taller tires in the front is that increases my trail by about 10mm - which is what I want when I need the larger tires.
