Sad day, glad I got to go visit before he went. His presence will be missed.

I am planning to go. Will probably have to get out there several hours early to avoid the worst of the traffic, coming from OC.

I have the State TT the next day so I will be a little preoccupied June 1. But if people want to come early and have dinner and a toast to Tim, I’m in. Will be happy to organize a place for dinner.

I missed this when it was first posted. We hadn't interacted in a while, but he was very nice and helpful to me when I was more active. He'll be missed.

@jimincalif
@TrojanHorse

And anybody else who will be attending the memorial service

How about meeting at Wolf Creek Restaurant on McBean (note the brewery is on Rye Canyon Loop, but Im talking about the restaurant which is on McBean Parkway) at 5:30pm on Fri June 1? They have a diverse menu, plenty of parking, and we can toast Tim with a beer.

Wolf Creek Restaurant & Brewing Co. - Located in Santa Clarita, CA

If people are interested, please let me know for sure and I will see if I can get a head count and make a reservation. Two local cycling friends will be there who are also members of Tim’s church. Plus my husband and I.

ALSO: I am told we should bring lawn chairs for the service, it will be outside at the church and seating will be limited. They are expecting a big crowd at the service.

@trojanhorse
@jimincalif

There is a reservation under the name Tim at Wolf Creek for Fri June 1 at 5:30pm. Right now it's 6-8 people. We'll be sitting outside.

Let me know if you decide not to come, so I can modify the reservation.

Also if anyone else wants to join, let me know and I can expand the reservation.

Remember it's the Wolf Creek on McBean Parkway.

We should be ok with timing if we are done with dinner around 6:30. It may be hard for me to make it earlier but feel free to show up a little early if you want, I doubt at that time of day that it will be a problem...

Yeah, I don't know what's up with tagging since this new forum software was rolled out. I've reported it twice but they don't seem too interested.

I'm still planning to be there, unless the SoCal freeway grid simply packs up, in which case I will give up and turn around at some point. Thanks for the info.

Take the train Jim! Start in Fullerton or Anaheim something. I'll drive you back to civilization after the service. I already told Vic I'd port him back too, a little extra driving never killed anybody.

Vic should be joining us as well

Thanks for the offer, let me check the train schedules. Fullerton's OK for you?

STUPID TRAINS! This is why traffic in this town is so bad.

I haven't driven to work on a Friday for probably 10 years but if I recall, traffic starts backing up around 2 pm. Plan accordingly.

For the benefit of anyone who cares, we had an email exchange, bottom line I can't get there from here on Metrolink. No trains arrive from the OC at Union Station between 10:48 am and 5:00 pm. I need to be there to catch a 3:50 train to Santa Clarita. I'll drive early if I need to and camp out in a Starbucks with my laptop. I might be able to take care of a biz meeting in Pasadena, which would save another trip out there and let me write off most of the mileage!

@jimincalif @TrojanHorse @tunavic (I assume)

Many apologies but I had a hair appointment today- I thought it was at noon but it was at 9am and I missed it. The only time my hairdresser can fit me in is at the end of the day, so I will miss dinner.

Do you want me to change the reservation to 3 people? Or cancel it and let yall do your own thing?

I will be at the memorial service and wouldn't mind meeting you all and saying Hi. Maybe we can connect at the service?

Nope! We're back up to 3, god willing and the creek don't rise... Got a text from Aaron, barring insane traffic, he's in.
@Heathpack - we'll look for you at the service, although I have no idea what you look like and I imagine there will be a billion people there.

Ok I changed it to three people under the name Tim.

I’ll be the lady with freshly did hair, lol.

Seriously, I’ll be wearing tan jeans and a bright orange sweater-like thing. I mean like goldfish color.
