Kickstands...the saga continues
Okay, so for all you who were able to help me from my post last week, I've finally been able to upload a pic of the kickstand I used to have. Thus, this is the type I'm looking for for my current bike. I found what I want on the Hebie website (it's the Fox611), however Hebie in Germany hasn't responded to my email and their rep in the U.S. hasn't responded to my email and the two phone numbers listed on their site don't work! So I'm stuck. Does anyone have any recent dealings with a Hebie rep in the U.S? Does anyone know of any other company that sells a similar kickstand? Thanks and good karma to those who can help me in this time of need.

...if I wanted one, I'd buy the Minoura, even though it costs more.

Greenfield has been selling something similar, made right here in the USA, for at least 20 years.
Search for a Greenfield rear mount kickstand.

If you are using rear panniers only, the rear-mount stand will probably work fine for you. If you are also using front panniers you might discover that the rear stand is not up to the task and that the additional weight on the front will cause the bike to tip whether the front wheel is turned either to the left or the right when parked. After learning this I decided on the Pletscher Twin center-mount which, while not foolproof in all parking situations, works better for me. Good luck!
I do use the Greenfield rear-mount on two other bikes that only get rear rack loads.

+1 more on the Greenfield. Although, one of the things on my to-do list is to put some used-up-inner-tube pads around mine; after 10 years the originals have dried up so it's rattling a bit.

3alarmer and to those who responded regarding Greenfield - as I said, for a loaded bike, I just don't feel it would be adequate. The thin arm, even those that cover both frame bars, just doesn't look very powerful. If I can't find what I want for a decent price, then I'll probably end up buying it.
2-i & Colonel Sanders (did I just say that??) - thanks for the links. However, both companies are in D-land and the cost for shipping increases the total too much. (and right now, the Euro is doing better than the dollar)
Thumpism - what you see in my pic is what's on my bike. This time however, I don't have a front basket and do have a book bag type backpack added on top of the rear sleeping bag and pad. While I'm not particularly loaded down in the panniers and have always been a light traveler, the backpack can add pounds depending on what I have in it.
Coffeesnob - you missed my original post where I said I live on my bike. That said, I've done numerous tours of the years and really don't have much more weight now than then. I've been told many times that I tour light, and having seen what some others pack and tour with, I have to agree. On my Venezuela tour, I used front panniers (Jandd) and hated them. Will never tour/ride with front panniers again. The great thing about touring is that there are no rules - except that you need a bike that goes.

Just to let you all know, I contacted a bike shop near me yesterday with a photo of my previous kickstand. The guy said he had something in stock like it. Went today and turned out it was the Greenfield stand. Not what I really wanted, but it did look better made than in the image. So it's now on my bike and hope it will suffice. Plus, he says it's made in the U.S. So that's nice.
