Disengage coaster brake from 3 speed hub? 650B party zone...
I picked up a Schwinn Suburban yesterday that has 650b rims on a Shimmano 3 speed with coaster brake hub. I was wondering if it was possible or worth it to disengage the coaster brake? I'm going to put the wheels on a Miyata 110 that I tried to tear the rear derailleur and drop out off of.

I couldn't see the value in removing the brake. Brakes are usually perceived as positive additions to any bike.

The bike all ready has centerpulls so the coaster would be redundant. I was thinking it might be causing some internal drag I could reduce.

Probably not a good idea, it would cause further problems within the hub.
