What a fantastic area to explore by bike! Your pictures prompted me to do a search on Petit Manan, and I did a lot of virtual exploring. It makes a guy want to go out and buy a fat bike

my sentiments as well Doug. PW's photos often have that effect I find.
You know, petit manan rings a bell, I suspect we went there once when I was young. Will ask my dad about it, he'll enjoy reminiscing of east coast trips to Maine. Holed up as most older folks are, it will be a nice distraction.
thanks monsieur walrus

Thanks! We have biked what could be biked and then took a 5 mile walk to Birch Point

covid makes it hard to just tour this part of the country for 10 days so instead we packed our tenting, hiking shoes and fat bikes and use the car for day trip points

next day we went to Great Wass Island Preserve and hiked a 5 mile loop there

Later we found a neat gravel road to Rocky Lake and found a great campsite

now we are at the Easternmost Point of the US at West Quoddy

Nice pics there. 👍 Ever notice, no matter where you actually are, a picture of a lighthouse ALWAYS makes you think of another lighthouse you saw, somewhere else? 🤔😁

Natures way of saying, "Surprise suckers! "
Snowed here today in Ottawa a number of times, not enough to stay on ground, but enough to send a little video to my family in the UK to reinforce the stereotype of the great white North.

that looks like a Hildeberg?
Brought my two MSR tents to put up for my dad to see...oh, I was wrong, we never went to that part of Maine, I must have remembered the name of Grand Manana near new Brunswick, and got mixed up with petit manane and imagined memories.

hope it melted fairly quickly.

How old were you when you left? We did not get as far south or east to be near Moravia. We were coming down from Poland and heading east to Prague.

We really enjoyed the Czech Republic, and had planned on going back and spending more time there. The people were friendly and helpful, and the small towns were great places to explore. Prague was also a good place to spend a couple of days.

Your first picture in the last pictures from the Bold Coast is really a nice photo That is amazing country.

Last 2 days of my staycation. Packed up my hammock and went Straight out of my house. I love it that way. No need to park the car or set up your bike at the last minute.

Who wants chocolate? 😁 San Leandro for the sign, not sure yet, where the outlet is. 🤔 I dunno if I should stop there or not, my load’s already kinda heavy right now. 🙄😉

Davis is a college town, right near Sacramento, and there’s a pretty decent bike path here. 😎

Just be careful, if you have to go through it, I’m pretty sure some of their women-folks are perverts!!! 😲😁😉

Hey Doug, pervy women aside, what I want to know is what the heck frame that is with that odd forward buttressing tube. Clearly says cannondale, but is that a goofy cannondale mountain bike from years past?

it's like the small one on my troll near the seat tube, but on steroids, and at the front.
