Hello from Ohio
I rode my first organized event in 1981 and have been hooked ever since.
I had a short racing career, rising to the dizzying height of Cat 3 until I retired due to a nasty accident during a race.
I've kept riding to stay in shape and have ridden TOSRV 14 times.
Aside from the occasional organized event I usually ride solo, as there's no organized club in my area.
I've 100k miles in the saddle and do not plan to stop.
I do my own maintenance, upgrades and occasionally build what I lovingly refer to as "Frankenbikes"!

Welcome! You sure are a rider! I am not much of one but appreciate those who can. I'm retired and dabble in fixing up older bikes I find at the auction house. I plan to sell them eventually. I'd be interested in what your frankenbikes look like. Any photo's?

Ohio's a nice state I've like the people I've met from there. I'm from New York City.

From Ohio!!! -- hmmm..... a southerner!
drop a note if you'll be visiting Detroit or Ann Arbor. Lots of places to ride in between & around the area.
A couple years ago I rode from Louisville (that's in Kentucky) to the AA-area. I spent a lot of time riding along the Ohio-Indiana border. A LOT. And there are A LOT of hog farms along the way. A LOT.

I've met a lot of nice folks while in NYC. I rode the 30th and final edition of the New York City Century last year. It's funny that I heard about that ride while out in the middle of farm country during a covered bridge ride here in SW Ohio last June. It supported the local 4H clubs and the Start/Finish line banner was strung between a front end loader and a combine! I rode the 2016 5 Boro Bike Tour in the rain and would gladly go again, although in the first wave if possible. That was the slowest 40 miles I've ever ridden, but, a lot of fun.

I rode around the East Lansing area during a tandem rally long ago and enjoyed the area. I'm trying to get the wife back on the old Burley Duet again so we can explore more than the local trail system.
(fingers crossed)
