Your 2wheel recumbents must be amazingly fast, not sure if I could get on to any of them at my age....except the trike of course, I've been triking for 15 yrs....currently have an Expedition (Catrike)...Your trike looks like a Speed or a Pocket, certainly a very early Catrike?? ....tires even look fast on your machines

On tour, Texada Island 2019

Looking at all these Exotics does please me, but in my old age I cannot afford to do this: )
This morning I took some pics of my old, but cool Orbit Gold Medal. A bit scruffy, but hey, it works brilliantly.

Carries my shopping, (no car) gets me around as I need, & a proper, useful machine.
531C frame/forks, easy gears, comfortable, reliable & agile.
Does the job for me; )

I do have a couple of machines that may be called Exotics (Carrera Podium?) but I cannot use them to advantage these days.

Absolutely!
Don't need to be expensive to be useful?
I got a Scott ESUB Tour, for my old age, (Long story) but this one is lighter, better in many various ways & I just love it: )
Scott cost £2k, this Orbit £50. No real, sensible comparison actually...

If you're referring to my collection on page 1, then you're right, the trike is a 2003 Speed. When Catrike first started up, the Speed was their fast model. It wants to be fast, but it's horribly undergeared the way it sits. It's getting a 58T chainring, then we'll see if it can keep up with the 'B' group on club rides. I don't expect more than that from it; it is, after all, a trike.

What I've been riding lately. That rear wheel won't make it back on the bike until March.

I've been wanting to get an MTB to play around in the dirt/rocks on (I also ride off road motorcycles but it's more of a trip to get to riding areas than for an MTB). I've just gotten back into cycling after a more than 2 decade break (have been running though) and have put a few rides on a road bike since December. Anyway, I googled things like "best cheap mountain bike" and stuff like that. I went looking at the different recommended models and then checking on real world prices. Most were brands like trek, giant, and other biggies.

I came across the airborne brand and was looking at their lowest model (guardian). Turns out it was on sale for $550 (from $700). Cool, I just sold a set of motorcycle wheels for $500 so the bike was practically 'free'. I looked around at their website a bit more and discovered that the next model up (seeker) was $330 off making it $600. It seemed like a pretty darn good deal so I ordered one. The next day I received an email from the company letting me know they had an issue and had sold out of the bike. They offered me the next model up (goblin) for the same price. Of course I agreed. Their normal price for the goblin is $1300 although they're currently on clearance for $900. I was happy to accept a $1300 (or $900 bike) for $600.

Shimano SLX rr derailleur, cassette, hydraulic brakes (have some SPD pedals for it too), and the other stuff on it seems pretty nice too. All the new fangled hardware is pretty neat like through axles, tubeless ready (I run tubliss on my dirt bike), hydraulic brakes, no front derailleur, makes it seem like an alien craft to me.

The bike arrived today. I'm hoping to take it out on the trails monday (holiday for me). I just gotta get it all tuned up first.

AB started doing that a few years ago to commemorate the anniversary of the end of probation. They delivered a case of Bud to bars around Busch Stadium.

Yup, you're definitely a LEO. I think the word you were looking for was "prohibition", not "probation"...?

Cheers!
