SARTO bike help
I was wondering if anyone could help me with some info on this bike.. I reached out to the company but haven't heard back yet.. I know it's a 2012 but can't find a similar one anywhere on the internet.. Just curious as to what it's worth or if it's worth building.. Thanks for any help..

It’s a boutique brand. Assuming this is not counterfeit, it’s a top quality time trial/triathlon bike. You may have a tough time finding the right size seatpost and stem. If you are racing triathlons or doing time trials, and it fits you well, it’s worth building up. If not, it is worth plenty to someone who is.

Yep, it seems odd that the frame and fork would have been separated from what must have been a proprietary seatpost and stem. I'd be concerned about counterfeit. Very attractive frame, though of limited utility.

datlas and shelbyfv gave excellent advice.
For me I wonder "who puts on a rear wheel backwards for a photo?"
I know why they did it but rear facing dropouts on multi-speed bikes just looks weird.
Are inner fork brakes easily available?
As mentioned that particular bike is so specialized and unique the only way I would purchase it is if it was complete.

As shown, this frame is missing proprietary parts, seatpost and seatpost collar, as well as the stem. Without those parts, the frame is not worth building up

I got the bike from a person that had a few high end bikes and all others were authentic but who knows.. Anyone know what it may be worth if it is indeed authentic.. Or would it even be worth anything if it is not?

So you've already bought it.... It's not actually worth anything unless you can find a stem, seatpost, etc.

Sounds like fun. Hope the other frames aren't missing some essentials.

In my mind, Missing parts that couldn’t be used on another bike: it was crashed. I wouldn’t want a crashed bike regardless of what it was made of or by whom.
enjoy your DA parts and figure out a way to use the frame as a decoration.

Well just confirmed with them definitely authentic.. And they said they have seat posts and stems available that will fit.. Why would you say the bike was crashed.. All the frames and bikes I got from him were brand new.. But anyone know what it would be worth now that I know it's authentic

I actually think the guy I got the bikes from may have just lost the seat post or misplaced it.. He wasn't a cyclist he got all the bikes and parts from a friend and just had them all sitting in his garage for years

If you can't find similar sales on ebay, your best bet would be to acquire the stem, seatpost, brakes(?) and any other proprietary missing parts. Then determine the most closely related current model (Ferox?). Start with half that msrp and see how it goes. If it's a custom frame they may be able to give you geometry measurements. If not, you'll need to accurately measure. A buyer will need to know.

Price of current version is 5870€, cannot trace the exact price of 8 years ago, but it was probably in the 4500-5000 USD range... This is what I received from sarto...

it's the first version of our Ferox frame, for stem and handlebar we used the Missile from PRO, for the seatpost, yes we have it.
