Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Can You ID This Alum SS MTB Frame? (possibly Gravity Deadeye?)

A friend of mine bought this aluminum SS MTB frame at a yard sale for $5. Appears to have been lime green at some point since some green paint remains at headtube and on the BB shell. No info from the seller, according to my friend. Serial # is "L131201108". These are the only photos he sent me.

It was suggested this may be a Gravity Deadeye. Deadeye is currently offered as a 29er. Earlier models, they were made as 27.5's.

That seems very plausible looking at the two. It also could be a generic frame that Gravity also uses. I would reach out to them and see if the serial lines up.

In the end $5 is a good price for a frame assuming it is not dented or cracked but it is a Gravity and that is just a cheap online brand being sold at a fake sale price (that never ends) so if that is the bike I would caution your friend putting a ton of money towards it. Certainly could be a fun little parts bin project that is what I would do.
