Took a quick ride after work last night, into the dark underbelly of downtown Saint Paul. The idea was to find some nice, artistic backgrounds for another thread that DD started. But things are so stark and nasty down there, and surprisingly crowded! I've never seen so many people out on the trails. In order to get this shot, I had to go off-the-trail where I wouldn't have to worry about traffic.
Not up to my usual standard, admittedly. But there was a strong rotting stench down there, and I didn't want to hang around.
I should be able to get out more this upcoming weekend, to someplace more scenic and less crowded. I hope...

I hopped on the Moto GT and got a quick 16 miles on this afternoon after logging off from work. 80 degrees with a light breeze, and home for dinner with the lovely Mrs. Camjr. I did change the original Selle Italia saddle out for an Origin 8 saddle I had laying around. I was having problems with the old saddle riding back on the rails and not staying put.

Bill's Trail is a forested path that was built over 30 years ago in Samuel Taylor State Park. It climbs a few hundred feet in two miles. Five years ago, after lots of lobbying from the local bike advocates, the park service announced that it would be opened to bicycle use. Then they closed it to everyone for some improvements. Those improvements took 5 years. Finally, today it was opened to bikes. I rode it on my off-topic MTB early this morning. I won't say that I never rode it before, but the satisfaction of finally seeing it legal made today's ride special.

Out riding the area. Compact double for hilly efforts. Specialized Turbo tubulars make it a smooth ride. Nice when the fit actually does feel made-to-order.

We liked the roads we explored a couple of days ago, so we went back today for a bigger loop.
I had mounted a small front bag on mrs non-fixie's RIH for the COVID-19 lunch:
Said lunch. Smoked chicken with mayonnaise sandwiches, a currant bun, a hard-boiled egg and a glass of biological Chardonnay. The glass, BTW, is made of Plexiglass and came as standard equipment with last year's Anjou Vélo Vintage tickets. Very useful!
We passed some nice towns, such as Harmelen ...
... and Woerden, where we admired the sculpture depicting the 1930's track World and Olympic Champion Arie van Vliet doing a sûr place:
