What's Your Secondary Sport?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cycling was in third place behind football (soccer, if you must) and running. Then I bust my groin and ankle in the same season... so cycling is now primary and running secondary and I've had to retire from football.

Waterskiing was my primary. I don't ski anymore, so I guess cycling is it now.

Squash! It's not related or complementary to cycling at all. Although I suppose stronger legs and core translate to some power on the return (but only if you're positioned well enough to get the torso-twist in there!). Truth be told, however, I haven't played much over the past year, but I'm really looking forward to knocking that little ball around this fall when I have better court access.

Exactly. Modestly captioning that photo with a "Central California" tag was like captioning a photo of Everest as "a mountain in Asia."

In my youth, cycling and rock climbing competed for my attention. After a cycling accident I stopped exercising altogether for 8 years. I'm getting back into shape and wondering if I should get back into climbing. It scares me - not the climbing itself - but that I'll love it again. My life is hectic enough that I don't need another sport to occupy my time. That, and the fact that my wife would "hate" me to climb again. However, looking at that photo makes me want to jump on the rock again. BTW, where is that route? It looks a little familiar.

I have wanted to try kayaking for a while. There is a place called the Back Bay which is an inland salt water cannal about 15 minute from me. I am not too sure which kayak to buy but the Sea Eagle 370 or the one of the Explorer series seems like a good choice.

My other sports include rowing and tennis, although I may not be rowing anymore since I don't like our coach.

Definitely drinking beer and playing pool. I'm pretty good at both.

I lift 2-3 times I week but because I do it for personal fitness i'm not sure if it can be considered a sport. I also enjoy playing basketball recreationally.

Two sports:

Lifting arm weights. However I don't actually own arm weights so I use beer cans instead.

I'm taking up another sport this year, Running (after women or away from someone's husband). Of course, the bike can come in handy during these episodes.
