I am a diesel...

After giving it much thought I have determined that I am one of those old industrial diesel engines. A 2 cyclinder, naturally aspirated model found in industrial equipment. I don't generate much power, operate at low rpm, make an awful lot of noise for little result, and balk at the slightest increase in workload. That being said I do eventually get me and my bike where I need to go and back home again. So while I may be slow I do get the job done.

What kind of engine are you?

I'm an aircooled VW engine. Not very powerful and at constant risk of overheating in the summer, but pretty simple and reliable overall.

LOL BMW Boxer - dated, underpowered compared to some of the new high revving upstarts - and very likely to be still going when everything else has broken down.

Make-and-break one-lunger. On loose bolts, iffy engine beds, and the seams are startin' to spit their oakum.

So you are saying that you put out a lot of torque and need glow plugs to get started?

I'm a Volkswagen VR6. I am a V-6, but my cylinder banks are oriented at about 15 degrees and offset, as opposed to the more common 45 or 60 degree orientations. Despite being introduced in the 80s, I can still be found in various models of small Volkswagens and Audis.

Put two of me together, and you have a W12 engine that goes into many supercars.

Definitely a diesel, similar to the OP. Low RPM, high torque, lots of noise, doesn't run very well in cold weather. Due to the high torque, another 50 lbs isn't even noticed.

Latley I am like an old collectors classic car, just sitting at home getting older and only going out on a nice sunny day for a short ride. I hope to get more miles under me this year, come on summer time.

Well I can move my trailer from a standing start pretty well. As far as glow plugs this time of year I need my gloves for sure!

An out of sorts 1978 Camaro. If I accelerate to quickly I backfire, let out a ton of smoke, and stall.

I would also describe myself as an aircooled VW, but I think I'm a little more like the one I built in the summer of 2011

Bigger displacement (1914cc), counter-weighted crankshaft, dual carbs, more power than stock, but still reliable and simple

VAG 2.0 turbo.

Great little powerplant when it works, but often in the shop and expensive to get back on the road.
