I am a diesel...
After giving it much thought I have determined that I am one of those old industrial diesel engines. A 2 cyclinder, naturally aspirated model found in industrial equipment. I don't generate much power, operate at low rpm, make an awful lot of noise for little result, and balk at the slightest increase in workload. That being said I do eventually get me and my bike where I need to go and back home again. So while I may be slow I do get the job done.

I'm an aircooled VW engine. Not very powerful and at constant risk of overheating in the summer, but pretty simple and reliable overall.

LOL BMW Boxer - dated, underpowered compared to some of the new high revving upstarts - and very likely to be still going when everything else has broken down.

I'm a Volkswagen VR6. I am a V-6, but my cylinder banks are oriented at about 15 degrees and offset, as opposed to the more common 45 or 60 degree orientations. Despite being introduced in the 80s, I can still be found in various models of small Volkswagens and Audis.

Definitely a diesel, similar to the OP. Low RPM, high torque, lots of noise, doesn't run very well in cold weather. Due to the high torque, another 50 lbs isn't even noticed.

Latley I am like an old collectors classic car, just sitting at home getting older and only going out on a nice sunny day for a short ride. I hope to get more miles under me this year, come on summer time.
