BB17 transfer or Planet X carbon?
Looking to upgrade my giant Bowery frame and looking at the bb17 transfer or the Planet X carbon frames. I know these are completely different but this is what has me torn between the two. I ride on road, no track. Any thoughts, advice or experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

The transfer frame is half the price of the planet x. I dont get how youre torn between the 2 at such different price points. Go for the bb17 if youre just going to ride on the streets.

The Planet X is $680 with shipping and it comes with full carbon seat post and fork. The bb17 is $530 with shipping and is frame only so money wise, they aren't that different.

Nice, youll enjoy it. Loved my Karma. What made you decide on the Transfer?

Several things made me choose it. While I love the look of the Planet X, I feel like id be constantly worried about it getting dinged or messed up. I also love the look of the Transfer especially in raw steel. The quality of the Columbus tubing, people's reviews and overall opinions of it seem very high, it's steel and seems way more practical for the type of ridding I do which all on road and no track. It just seems like a better long term choice.

Your cog is slipping.
Yeah, it really is! There's literally nothing wrong with it except for that tiny bit of chipped paint on the top of the head tube, which happened in transit from BB17 to us.

Yeah, if it were my frame I wouldn't care about it at all. Once the bearing is in there and the top of the headset is on, you've got to really look for the chipped paint and can only see it at eye level.
