the raw data from the 1hz garmin chipset is inherently weaker in battery efficiency and accuracy of speed and location in city and weak signal areas, but at the hardware or software level, i think its got quite nice path smoothing. youll likely notice better speed accuracy with 5hz logging.

Frankly, I still can't find a useful and practical use for GPS other than telling me location. Before I bought a 705 when they came out, I still could not justify to myself getting it until I found out you can get map cards for europe and other places. So, I did get it with the Europe map card. That has paid for itself several times over already. I only use GPS if and when I am in an area I don't know doing a ride away (even then I still look at maps), otherwise I find it worthless. That is seldom, but it is useful to me 3-5 times/year. Even then, I could do just fine with a simple map. I still to this day hardly find any use for the car GPS, which I think has simply made most people more stupid than they were already. The rest of the features including power reading I can use daily and get something out of them whether it is "training" or in a pleasure ride.

Leg warmer from specialized and got me and my bike some new shoes.
got this for 220 shipped from PBK before they hike up the price. Currently using some cheap Shimano. I'll see if this will make a big difference.

All in all a productive bicycle day.. I started out by rebending the mount for my Canondale rear rack so it would have a natural lie putting the mounts right at the brazeons with no stress.
then came the road BB7 to match up with the road levers and some non-QR skewers. The BB7 is a huge improvement over the BB5, and I feel more secure without the QR skewers.
and a semi-proper wrap of the bar tape.. I do not know if I am in love with the Brooks bar tape, leather is nice but the finish on this is somewhat shabby and the sun fade is excessive.

No pic of the whole bike? I'm curious as to what these bars look like on that cannondale.
The new Bottom Bracket I bought/installed works perfectly. I got so used to cricking everytime I put some power into my pedal that I forgot what the bike was SUPPOSED to sound like. A nice 10 mile ride (With girlfriend and a friend) showed that the ride is now Silent. Forget I am even on a bike sometimes.
