Highway 2 past the closure?
Looks like highway 2 is closed near Clear Creek until July because of a slide.
Is it possible for bikes to squeeze past the barriers? Get past the slide itself? Might be a good opportunity to get in some scenic car-free miles.
Has anyone done this?

looks like they're cleaning up 4+ miles of slide activity. it's one thing riding up/down the upper, permanently closed stretches of hwy 39 with the occasional rockplow.
it's another thing entirely to try to negotiate that. dunno if the barrier(s) you mentioned are just the usual usfs angeles nf giant gates you can lift the bike over and then
go over, under, around or thru or it's a different barrier. if you absolutely must, probably best to find out for yourself before 8am and after 5pm.

Isn't Clear Creek just before the Angeles Forest turnoff? In which case Hwy 2 was open last time I rode there. It is definitely closed at Redbox and yes you can go around the barriers there.

Apparently, the closure is the same one just past Redbox (heading eastward). You can still go to Mt Wilson. There are now guards at the slide and you will not be able to pass. You can rejoin Highway 2 at the Upper Big Tujunga junction.
