Picked up a Koga-Miyata SilverAce today after the unfortunate end of my 1989 Koga-Miyata RoadAce project.
Probably a 1996 model with Koga's Hardtlite FM-1 tubing (chromoly, potentially splined triple butted frame tubes) and a high manga steel fork. Cream of the crop in3-speed 7-speed city bikes at the time. Fairly light at less than 17 kilos (37 lbs) for a fully featured IGH bike.
As you can tell I'm pleased and I'll be starting a project thread soon.

I've picked up a few 7 speed hg-50 cassettes when I realized production has ended. Now I have to figure out what gearing I need and pick up some 8 speed cassettes for the cogs.

I haven't tried it out on the road yet, but it lights up nicely in my basement with the lights off when I spin the front wheel. 
I'm using zip ties to route the wiring under the downtube and behind the seat tube for now, daydreaming about routing the wiring internally for a cleaner look.

Gained a little weight going from a 12-30 8 speed cassette to a 12-34 8 speed. This should make hills real easy on the fall tour.

For about $3.75 and a 32 day wait, three sets of handlebar tape showed up. The tape is good stuff, as far as I am concerned, and I have been using it for years.
Order early though as it can take up to 90 days to arrive. This shipment took, as mentioned, just over a month. The quickest that I have ever received a shipment from the orient is 8 days and it, too, was free shipping. Anyway, about a buck and a quarter a set (before you order, look CLOSELY at the pictures - some sellers do not offer the tape that is tapered to the edges)...

SunRace SLR-80 - SunRace | SLR80. My first foray into indexed shifting on my 1973 MKM. I went for the 8-speed even though I use a 7-speed freewheel because it came very quickly, and the SLR-70 would take a week. I like this a lot better than my Suntour Power shifters. The combo, with a Suntour V-GT, missed a shift or 2 on my first ride, but it's a big improvement over the Power-Shifter - V-GT - Ultra-6 that I used until a week ago.
I brought the bike into the '80s. I probably will keep it there. I can see how a 10-speed cassette could be useful, if I could specify a cassette that suits me - maybe 15-16-17-18-19-20-21-22-25-28 or maybe 15-20/22/25/28/34. That doesn't seem possible.

I wanted the most robust thing available, after overhauling a Le Cyclo and a set of Maxicars on my Jack Taylor using pins set up in a vise or needlenose pliers end-on as a makeshift tool, and seeing more pin tooling in my future. Those French loved their pin sockets!
My plan is to turn a few different sized and shaped pins in the lathe. It's going to be a lot of work. You see, I can't just start with screws, because the stupid thing has m5x0.9 threading, rather than the usual m5x0.8. WHY, VAR?? WHYYY??

Ordered one of the double sided 23/23.35 mm crank pullers out of Poland.
my TA puller was stolen long ago, this new piece features nice machining, threaded in well, not loose or tight.
the bolt is not custom ground but a few minutes at the bench grinder will address that.
last need to remove TA cranks required a 70 minute round trip and $10. Problem solved.

-Buy standard 10-24 screws in desired length and head type. This standard thread pitch is the closest to M5x.9.
-Buy a M5x.9 die on Amazon (they have them)
-Put the die in a vise upside down and clamp it down fairly tight. You need it upside down to completely re-thread the screw.
-Use cutting oil with the standard screws and start working in and backing it out until you finish. Take your time.
-It will not take much force but you will need to push down fairly hard
-NOTE: I used stainless and found it to be really soft.
