I haven’t adjusted the seat post yet to dial in my preferred riding position, when I purchased the bike it had flat handle bars and I converted back to the drop bars. Out of curiosity, what about the current set up is unsafe?

Mainly the stem and seat post are above safe limits the stem would trouble me the most having nearly 5in or so high with only a 1 inch or so in fork you should have one inch the fork for every 2 on the stem .

Beginning of this year, I built the ProTour15 with the bits from Tri-A.
Tri-A got new wheels and Ultegra 6700 drivetrain.
The quill stem takes a 31.8mm handlebar - FSA Omega Compact.

On Feb 2019 my first bike full build. Shimano Ultegra 6700, a quill stem that holds a 1" bar, FSA Omega Compact handlebar.
Wheels are H+Son Archetype with Bitex RAF12/RAR12 hubs. Missing bar tape on the pic.

March 2020 remake (just finish taping today morning) and just got a ride today afternoon.
Shimano 105 R7000 silver, except the brake calipers that are 5800. Went for a white bar tape and cable case.
Cockpit is the same as with last years build, but finally feel more comfortable lowering a bit the quill stem.
Cranks are now the 160mm that is available on R7000, before I had the 165mm ones.
Feel it shifts much better than 5800 or Ultegra 6700 - as seen below, 21lbs 6.4oz

A s bigger guy I would much rather ride a nice fitting bike even it's 3-4lbs heavier. Better handling, ride, much better braking characteristics and less chance of life threatening component fails. Adding a 2-3 in rise to a classic style stem doubles the stress on the stem head set and fork and so one hard bumb can be really bad.

Digging up my old Tri-A thread.
After a year with Litespeed Firenze, I solved to go back to steel is real that feel more lively for riding - probably carbon vs steel forks?

In order to get a wider tire on the back, solved to put some $$ on the frame.
Move some few mm the seatstay bridge up and took the ride to have all bosses for fender and rack.
And today I picked up from a fresh powder coat.

Frame weight seems pretty much same - scale actually shows 2g lighter.
Fork got its 14g extra.

Powder coating in grams. I was wondering what bike in "wrenching" thread you had Powder coated. They are great frames. I love my Bumblebeena.

I've added all the fender/rack bosses to the frame since it was going to get a fresh paint.
As seen below, 21lbs 11oz.
