SOLD Mid 90's Trek OCLV 5500 frameset, 50cm
Up for sale is this used Trek OCLV 5500 frame/fork/headset in dark pewter. This was part of a group buy and is way too small for me. In really, really nice condition, a few scratches but no real flaws.
5500 was Trek's highest level of carbon frame at the time; made in the USA. Comes with seat post clamp, FD mount and downtube cable stops (you can also remove them and mount down tube shifters if you prefer). Headset is a Tange Vantage.
Price of $SOLD! does not include shipping, figure no more than $35 to ship within the continental USA.
Thanks for looking!

Nice project. Wish I knew someone that would fit. The one guy I'm trying to talk into a road bike would need a 52 or 54. He's strong and fast, a little guy and natural climber, but he prefers his hybrids. I'm betting he'd enjoy a road bike if I could just get him on one his size.
The tiny women cyclists I know already have plenty of bikes, including newer carbon fiber road bikes. They aren't much into building projects, though. The one who is prefers classic steel frames.
I have a '93 Trek 5900, original headset and crankset, but built up from various other bits and pieces. I like it just as well as my Ironman. Not a huge difference between 'em in actual riding conditions -- they feel pretty similar, but the Trek is a little lighter on climbs and a little stiffer.

Is 50cm standard sizing, or is it a sloped top tube? And where are you located?

Should be standard sizing. Those early-mid 1990s Trek OCLV 5xxx series frames were horizontal top tubes, conventional diamond frame. Mine, at least, rides and feels like my '89 Ironman -- just 5 lbs lighter and a little bit stiffer in the bottom bracket.

That's a crazy low price on that frame. Always wanted one. Sadly a foot too short

Cool. I thought you might have hit a 6 on the keyboard by mistake. I was just looking all over www for a 6500 OCLV thinking I might build it for my daughter with 7700--AND--thinking of a proper response to my wife's, "She has a bike!" A tour winning bike for Ben.

When I mentioned I bought this to my wife she said maybe this is the last one ....I just smiled.
I am going to hang an Ultegra 15 on it with some carbon wheels I bought a while back.2nd CF I will have and curious to see how well it rides.
Best, Ben
