Today started cool and foggy.
Eventually I climbed out of the fog on the flanks of Mt. Tamalpais.
I think this fellow was looking for a girlfriend. While I was taking this picture he spent a long time looking over my bike , but he finally decided she wasn't his type.
This bunch of beggars wanted to know if I'd share my peanut-butter-and-raisin sandwich with them.
Here's what we have for fall colors in my part of coastal California, poison oak.

In town errands. A short trip, and one that reminded me that I can’t wait too much longer to procure a set of fenders. It was an enjoyable autumn ride none the less... wet butt and all!

Nice pile of bikes. Waiting on the San Rafael bridge to open. From Richmond ferry to SF and back around through Marin. Should be a nice picture taking ride.

Lots of the other MUP users today were terrible at picking a lane or holding a line, but at least they didn't make many rapid sudden movements.

Yup, Hastings Again...
Played hooky from work yesterday, and went here:
Like I always do when I can't think of anywhere else I would rather ride. So I try to take photos with different backgrounds, different bikes.
Here's an angle I haven't posted before:
Then I did some of this:
... and went here:
And then I touched the wrong button on my fancy Leica camera, and it decided it was doing video now. Why can't they just make a digital Leica that works like the old film cameras? There are so many buttons, bells, and whistles on this thing that I would need a college course to learn how to use everything. And most of it is just trickery to make up for an operator's lack of skill.
Sorry, didn't mean to rant. It was a great ride, but I missed a lot of prime photos because I just got disgusted with it.

As a native NYC fella that slice is a bit difficult for me to recognize as pizza but it sure does look tasty! It looks like your Sat. tandem rides end at an ideal spot to refuel.

Well, not exactly... When I want to work on a bike in my shop, I have to put two or three of them outside, and that sucks on a rainy day. The main bay of the garage houses about a dozen whole bikes and framesets, waiting to become projects. This coming Spring, I am going to have to sell some of my custom builds, and just accept the fact that I will never get back what I put into them. I'll be lucky to get half. But I accept this as the cost of a great hobby. I mean, if I was still into golf, it would cost me even more, right?

Ride `Round the `Hood
Yesterday I took my newly completed `81 Trek 412 out for its shakedown ride. Smooth and fast on those 700c x 35mm Panaracer T-Servs, it's like riding on a cloud.
You may remember this place, from an earlier post about my morning commute:
Well, yesterday I stopped by after my long climb up Stryker Hill:
And enjoyed some refreshment with some of my neighbors. I was bummed that they were out of Summit Oktoberfest already. But the Castle Danger Cream Ale was a good second choice.

We weren't riding C&V this time but @rhm on his Rawland and I on my Fuji Gran Fondo rode a scenic, very windy 200K permanent in NJ on Friday. Nice route with plenty of places to refuel.
