Awesome. LOVE that color! My wife rides a Surly Pacer. My son rides a Surly Cross-Check. And I've been through 3 bikes in recent years and can't find anything I like more than a Surly.
And I recently test-rode the Midnight Special, and I'm about to stop pretending that there's a bike I'd rather have.

Surly has also performed the Jedi Mind trick on me, so now it just comes down to how many Surly's will I end up with.

If the Kool-Aid were served...
...as a Bridge Club frameset, I'd drink it too.

Their Midnight Special looks interesting. They even make it with a 625mm top tube, which would work for me. But they use the same length chainstays on every size, which would bias too much weight on the rear wheel for my taste. I do use their low trail fork on my Black Mountain Monstercross. Chrome. Pretty.

I buy bikes that substitute for weight lifting but they all have a tank. That's gotta be about as fun as a Long Haul Trucker.

Sweet! I've come dangerously close to pulling the trigger on a CC several times, but since there are none in stock anywhere near me I can't test ride them, and Surly's unique geo makes me nervous. I normally ride a 56, based on top tube i should get a surly 54 but I'm worried I'd have a mile of seatpost sticking out.

Love that dark green color!
I remain a Cross Check fan from afar. I've never ridden one and used ones are few and far between on craigslist (and expensive!), but I sure like their looks, specs, and what people say about them online.

Looks good. That brooks saddle makes me wonder what it would look like in green/tan with tan saddle and bar tape...
I have that tan look on my red steel ride, but it could look sharp with your green paint job!

Anyway, I still sort of like my Cross Check, even if I don't ride it all that often here.

Anywhere I roam
After many many bikes and then a Cross Check, I am now Surly forever... so I say great choice! I LOVE my cc!

Congrats! Awesome color. I love my CC--every time I ride it after browsing all the newer more..."modern" bikes, I'm reminded that I don't need anything else.

I've had a Niner RLT and a Jamis Renegade, so far this one is my favorite. Its going to take a while to decide what tire I want. Main riding is cheap seal country roads and a few gravel roads.

What's that on there now? I have the stock Knard 41's that came on mine, and I'd be hard pressed to find something better for all-around, throw anything at it, riding.
