Miele Latina being built. Love the orange speckled paint job on this frame.

Did I post this one already ? Rumor is these were built by Henri Depierre, "Cycles Gemini" for the Moto team. Beautifully made bike.

I'll see your "hideous in a good way", and raise you a "spent waaaay too much time in the sun" fade....
Dunno how this happens, but I did it again. Managed to buy a "color of the month" bike in its very month. Just picked this up last week. Must have been a shop / show demo bike, because it had several logo-ish stickers on it, which explains the fade artifacts. We also have an Outpost that's (I think) the same year, same color treatment, exactly the same sun-fade effect on the topsides of all the tubes. Yes, it's small, as the seat post indicates, but it's an effing blast to ride. U-brake is a monster. PO swapped in some sweet Suntour Accushift thumbies, but a cheap nearly new 21st-Century Tourney RD. So I installed an X-1 from the stockpile.

Picked this up at the thrift store in August:
1990 Kona Lava Dome. Lightest steel MTB I've ever handled. Around 22 lb, IIRC. Some serious "beausage" on the frame in the form of paint chips. Rust is neutralized with Fluid Film; I may just clear-coat them once I get the rust removed.
Warning: Do NOT stare at the headbadge while playing anything by Jefferson Airplane.
Has these yummy Curve brand brakes. Levers are of the same design. Never seen anything like them. Monstrous braking power with the Kool Stops.

A gifted pair of 1981 My912 projects. Plans are to swap out parts and build a tubular wheelset.
Pay it forward, the larger frame is moving on to a fellow forum member.

Absolutely! Can't have a bike without the frame.
Here are some that keep getting built and rebuilt due to my ADHD. It takes me a couple tries to decide on a final set-up, and then I change it again. In order of appearance: '72 Crescent Pepita Special, '74 Crescent Pepita Special "Biohazard", '60s-'70s Ronchini BB, '80s "Colnago" Moser, '70s Vetta seat cluster. Orange is not the "new black", but orange and black is a hard combination to beat.

Orange Herc
Hercules roadster, unknown model/year. Officially my oldest orange bike, not many from pre-60s with orange paint; believe this is late '40s-mid '50s, although I don't think the paint is original, it still appears to have the look and wear of 60-70 years.

My first ten-speed as a teen was a Kabuki, so when I found this one locally for cheap, I picked it up. With good tires, it actually rides pretty nice.

I just got this Medici . I guess I’m part of the orange bike club! Did my first ride yesterday and it was great. The orange has a bit of gold pearl to it. I think it is a 1982.
