Continental GP 4 Season first impressions

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Continental GP 4 Season first impressions

Cooler weather is here, and my summer tires were beat, so I took a chance on the GP 4 season. I wanted a more durable tire since I'll be riding at night and want to lower the chances of a flat. After my first ride I'm pleasantly surprised at how well they ride and handle. I'm running 700 x 25 at 95PSI, and they are pretty supple. What really surprised me was the low rolling resistance. I don't notice much difference between them and the GP4000s tires I replaced. Not quite as fast, but really close. I know this is only one ride, but after 35 miles they feel really nice. Grippy, smooth, and reasonably fast. No idea about durability yet, but I'll update if my impressions change.

I just wish they would leave the sidewall black.

They have the same black chili rubber compound as the 4000s but with a different sidewall plus the kevlar belt. We use these on our tandem, we're very happy with the ride and durability.

I've got a 23 on my front wheel.

Thousands of miles and only 1 pinch flat so far.

They have the same black chili? I wasn't aware of that.
