Heart rate monitor that works with rouvy/zwift

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Heart rate monitor that works with rouvy/zwift

I wonder if there is any specific monitor that works with those services. I assume that means being compatible with an ipad (which is how I get those services).

I have a garmin HR monitor that I use with my garmin computer, but it does not work with the ipad. Thoughts?

If it has to connect to the iPad, you will need either a HRM that support bluetooth or the NPE dongle that converts ANT+ to BT.

I have Wahoo Ticker and it works with both and more. Ant+ and Bluetooth should be compatible with most software and hardware

To clarify, the HRM you get has to be compatible with your iPad, not with Zwift. Usually that's not an important distinction, but folks have different levels of familiarity with computer tech, so maybe putting it this way will help.

John told you exactly what you need.

If I was going to buy a new one I'd want a Wahoo or 4iiii that you can use with a phone or iPad and also with a Garmin.

I have the Garmin HRM and an ANT+ USB dongle and it works with Zwift on my computer, but not on my iPhone or iPad. The newer iOS devices need an expensive adapter to make them work, lightning to USB, or a lightning to 30 pin and then a 30 pin dongle. So, just get a bluetooth as suggested and be done with it.

Even though I do the same commuter almost every day, I still wear it every time.

You need a 4iiii hrm https://4iiii-innovations.myshopify....-rate-monitors

It acts as a blue tooth to ant+ bridge.

I use this one-

https://www.amazon.com/Onlyesh-Bluet...=bluetooth+hrm

Cheaper than the name brands and it sends out both a BT and ANT+ signal so I can use it for Zwift and also have it sync with my on-bike computer while riding outdoors. It's cheap but has worked perfectly other than some issues with the contacts getting corroded after washing the strap, cleaned them with a wire brush and it's back to normal.

I was interested so checked it out. The feedback suggested nearly 30% of purchasers regret it. My regret limit is no more than 10%.

I'm all for saving a few bucks but I'd cough up the extra $10 for Wahoo Tickr since it's proven
