where to find 3-bolt internal plate for Shimano road shoes?

My brother-in-law has a pair of Shimano SH-R072Y road shoes. The shoe's sole is designed to work with multiple bolt patterns. However, the internal plate only has threadings for 2-bolt or 3 in-line bolts. There is no internal plate to use with 3-bolt style cleats.

See attached photos. The first photo shows the sole design and the included plate (note: the plate is designed to be on the inside of the sole, but is shown outside for visual clarity). The second photo shows the 3-bolt cleat that my brother-in-law wants to attach to the shoe.

My question is: where can I buy an internal metal plate to use a 3-bolt style cleat with these shoes? The shoe is clearly designed to accept this, so I assume the plates are out there somewhere. But I haven't been able to find them through online searching.

If you can't find the exact original part, I have made similar repairs on old cycling shoes using a T-nut like that in the picture. They come in various sizes/lengths and are easily available at hardware stores. You may need to cut the spurs down, or completely off. And possibly shorten the barrel.

I'm not sure about this but your right had picture shows what appears to be an adapter to allow SPD-type two-bolt cleats to be mounted on a three-bolt Look-pattern shoe sole. Can the cleat be removed from this adapter and mounted directly on the shoe sole with the standard two bolts?

Don't use the Quattro plate- the piece around the cleat, which attaches to those pegs always falls apart. Since the shoes are drilled for a 2-bolt cleat anyway, just use the eggbeater cleats without that external adapter plate.
