This $50 Romani popped up on DC Craigslist yesterday. I saw it when it was 29 minutes old and messaged. Just heard back this morning that it is sold. I hope it found a good home:

I have a theory that in the pnw a lot of people already have bikes, the only ones left without are the serious bandwagon jumpers and they're only willing to pay about 100$ because they don't know anything about bikes and want to get into it as cheaply as possible.

At first I thought this might be the same as the bike I linked earlier (same price, frame size, general great condition), but the components are different.

I'd knock off at least $50 unless they still have the Superbe Pro rear derailleur. And I'd make sure the hubs are still Superbe Pro. You never know what someone finds acceptable if they're willing to slap on mismatched tires!

Fuji Saratoga Project - $75 (Spencer, MA)

A frankenbike that needs work, but it might be worth the price:
https://worcester.craigslist.org/bik...127038952.html

bicycle frame material: steel
bicycle type: road
brake type: cantilever
condition: good
frame size: 52 center to top
handlebar type: drop
make / manufacturer: Fuji
model name / number: Saratoga
wheel size: 27 in

Vintage project. Fuji Saratoga touring bike. Probably 80's vintage. 6 speed cluster, mix of Suntour, diacompe and Sugino parts. Tall Technomics stem. No front wheel. I believe the fork is a replacement.

it takes an eccentric adapter so you can make it a fixie if you want. Not sure why they didn’t just use horizontal dropouts.

Are you seeing higher prices in your area recently? This Competizione is one of three bikes I listed on Saturday. I priced these higher than I normally do, not because of perceived trends, but because 5 for last 6 bikes I sold were bought by flippers who immediately relisted at 3x.

I will be selling most of my ~20 bikes to regain use of my garage for home renovation work.

Oh, yeah. Compared to just a year ago, prices and demand are way up in Seattle for mid-level bikes in good condition. I sold two that didn't last a week on craigs. Sold for well over what I would've listed last year. And, obviously, I left money on the table based on how quickly they sold. Besides that Trek 400 I posted above in Everett, there's nothing at that pre-plague price within mass-trans distance.

Personally, I'd make sure the Competizione is in tip top shape, find a black tire for the front, and list for $400 with great, detailed pics. Show off that seat cluster, etc. And good luck with your mass sell-off.

Lots of people seem to have noticed the upturn, and have decided to take their old Colnagoes out of the closet and put 'em on CL. I see a nice turnover lately, and some very nice deals, but you gotta grab 'em right away.

The used bicycle market corrected itself pretty quickly to accommodate the increased demand, I have to say. I had no idea there was so much nice stuff that people had hidden away, waiting for prices and demand to go up.

There has been a guy up there who closed a shop in the Russian river area that was selling nice vintage bikes for reasonable prices. May be him. Yes, it's easier when you know where to start, but he is a bit out of the way.

This Saronni is back up. First time I saw it, with these same disoriented photos, was over a year ago, priced at $150. I sent the seller a few requests to meet, never heard a response, and the price went up to $250. Now it's back up at $200, but he did add that more chainrings are included. When I was interested, I was going to powder coat it red and build an '80s Campy 2x7. Bike should be in this thread and the seller should be in the other one. (whack.)
