what kind of road shoe do you use?
I'm currently using shimano R220's. been good, but I got them a half size to small so they dont fit me like I'd prefer. saving up for the specialize S-works.

Did you buy the shoes online by chance?
I use Specialized shoes due to the Shimano's not fitting well on my wide feet.

I did, but I had tried them on at a LBS. I was gonna go with that bigger size but while walking around I felt as if my heel had some slip, so I went down a size to prevent that. Which there is NO heel slip, but my toes go numb even with the toe box losened up all the way.

R220's here too. Great, stiff shoe. They were a little snug in the toe box for me too after an hour or so on the bike, but I switched insoles and freed up just enough space for them to work. What size are yours.....maybe you wanna off load them?

Sidi Ergo 2's and Sidi Genius 3's from a long time ago. Had a pair of Diadora's, but they never fit my foot correctly. S-Works fit well enough, but Sidi's just fit me perfectly. I'll spend the extra coin for comfort.

Specialized S-works. They were the only shoes in a non-wide size that fit my feet very well. The only other options for me were the Sidi Genius in a Mega size, Lake in EE width, or Bont in EE width. The Sidis only came in this fugly black/yellow color, while the Lake and Bont shoes were at least $400 and harder to find.
I like the S-works shoe a lot. They fit really well and the Boa system is super convenient. I never have any serious foot discomfort after a long ride either, however there is always room for improvement when it comes to fit and comfort. I think my next shoes are going to be the Bont Vaypor. I really like the idea of having shoes heat molded to my own foot. Just seems like it would be the ultimate in comfort and heel retention. I can get used to the traditional buckle system if it means a more secure hold to keep my heels from slipping.

they are white and blue/43. I would need to save up enough to buy my specialized shoes before giving these up.

Bontrager RXL Road.
They have been pretty comfortable. Found out recently I have wide feet, but maybe not too wide since the regular shoes have worked well for me. I wear them on the looser side though.

I ride Bontrager xXx limited edition shoes (the ruby red slippers.haha). They are very very nice, light, and comfortable. Plus, they breath very well with no flex.

Don't know about that, Shimano M182 MTN shoes. Nary a hot spot on 300, 400, or 600km rando rides. Of course they have a carbon sole, so its the shoe itself, not the discipline.

Specialized BG Carbon, or something like that... I'm not sure, my father gave them to me, but they're SO comfy and they don't flex. At all. Even with my hands, trying hard, they don't budge a bit.
