I wear my old team jerseys plus pro team jerseys I buy on sale. Unlike fans that wear pro football and basketball (usually at bars drinking beer and smoking), I see nothing wrong with showing support for your favorite cycling team.

I occasionally wear my Del Tongo Colnago jersey when riding vintage bikes. I don't have any interest in wearing active team kit. It looks less like you are a supporter of that team and more like you are a wannabe - or clueless, like the guy I saw earlier this year wearing a world championship jersey while riding his fancy bike on the sidewalk.

Rule # 1 is 'Obey the Rules'
Rule # 17 pertains to team kit: Velominati ? The Rules

that settles that. end of thread.

I wouldn't recognize a professional team jersey if I saw one. Watching bicycle racing is about as exciting as watching golf for me. But I don't see any reason why it would be more outre than, say, wearing a professional football jersey.

Per my sensibilities, it's OK to wear the kit of long defunct and notable team as "hommage" to bike racing's rich heritage, not that I would.

If I'm going to wear tight spandex: it'll be on my terms.
I have a Batman jersey. Because, well, Batman rocks.

If you want to pick a team jersey: go for it.

For me, it's his glasses that ruin the look.

BTW...What's brown and sounds like a bell?

if i do i fast ride with a fast group where it's polite to blend in, i wear my old amateur team kit, or i advertise for my LBS.
I bought a used USPS Jersey many years ago, after the team moved to Disco, so it was cheap. I will still wear it when I shrink into it, not so much because I still hold on to the glory days of L.A. by any means... But I have worked for the lead sponsor for over 30 years. I have at least one coworker who used to wear USPS kit, but got rid of it when Lance was banned.

if i can get my hands on a blank retro jersey, i'm going to ask my mom-in-law to embroider my employer's name on it: 1960s Tour day France Winner
i've got a full kit from a local armature team i raced for with my employer's name on it: see me behind Frankie, clearly not looking at the camera...... but in my FORD jersey!
