Campagnolo 2-bolt NR seat post with Sakae Ringyo parts?

My haul from an area bike shop's parts bins included a 27.2 Campagnolo NR two-bolt seat post with no hardware, but a decent enough shaft that should polish up reasonably well. Among some bits I acquired elsewhere is a Sakae Ringyo copy of that two-bolt seatpost. The bolts, funky rotational nuts and top clamps all fit beautifully - but the holes for the two side cradles are slightly oversized when placed over their mounts on the side of the seat post head. Recognizing that this unnatural pairing of Vicenza with Sakae Ringyo may just be a bad idea, which adaptation below do you think would be the best bet?

1. Gently peen over the outer edges of the stubby shafts to capture the cradles
2. Roughen and slightly expand said stubby shafts with a punch, a la fixing a loose fork crown juncture
3. Wrap the shafts with teflon tape and/or dental floss to create a friction fit for the cradles and hope that the action of clamping saddle rails will hold it all together?

Is the SR seatpost a Royal or a Custom? I've seen the Campy design copied in both those models.

If it were me I'd just sell the SR post and get the correct Campy hardware. Seatpost parts are not something I'd want breaking while riding because of a risky modification.

If the SR is in good condition you could probably sell for at least $40, and I see NR 2 bolt seatposts on ebay for $40-50.

If all depends on the relative difference in diameters between the shafts and holes. Personally, my favourite solution in such situations is stainless steel shim stock. Automotive supply houses will typically sell you a 12" single feeler gauge for a few dollars. Since they are feelers gauges, they are available in a wide assortment of thickness to fit your particular application. Just cut them to size and bend around the shafts. The stainless steel is far more durable than tape or aluminum pop cans. This is is also my preferred solution for loose headset cups and crown races.

Brilliant answer, T-Mar.
That's what I'd do.

Or just use the Sakae Ringyo post, especially if it's the "Royal" model.

If you're trying to keep the bike "all Campy," putting the SR parts on the Campy post is sacrilege enough already, and there's nothing wrong with the SR two-bolt posts.

Additional data - the Campagnolo post is 27.2 which I need; the SR is a sawed off 26.4 that is in poor condition. I'm leaning toward's T-Mar's solution. This is going on a bike that will be a triumph of re-purposed, recycled, reclaimed and otherwise reconfigured, so this sort of reclaiming what would otherwise be junk parts makes a twisted sort of sense.
