Got my winter commuter.

I know it's July, but I finally got a winter commuter to get me through the cold UT winters. I know a lot of people manage with studded tires, but I don't want to fall over, period.

So I got a velomobile. I'll probably put a more aggressive rear tire on it, maybe even a full mtn bike tire, and get a race cap to keep the cold out. With any luck, I shouldn't need heavy gloves, and only medium weight tights and jacket. The biggest problem I anticipate is keeping the windscreen from fogging up.

Dude! That Rocks!

Window fogging would be an issue - maybe something like this: Wireless portable hair dryer

looks like you have plenty of ventilation or does it button up more than that?

It buttons up quite a bit more. I will be getting a race cap for it, and closing off the footholes. The race cap has a nice NACA duct for airflow, but they are known to fog up in winter conditions.

I ride motorcycles and have a number of anti-fog coatings and other things that might help with it, too.
