Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nope and nope. Also, lousy camera.

I saw a hillside of wild flowers today that could conceivably have been a good photo, but I didn't see it until I was rolling down the ridge. And who wants to stop for flowers when you're rolling?

Sad.

That's hiking though. And camping.

There's always next year (maybe). More time to train.

Got bit by a spider this morning. Hopefully it wasn’t a notorious one. Riding the cap trail first thing in the morning might not be the best this time of year. I was covered in spider webs when I stopped.

Rest day today. Just a morning walk - no Strava, because walking doesn't count.

Ha, yeah, I’ve thought about that vestige but left it up as a bit of history. I picked up a heel i jury right before lockdown and haven’t been able to take care of it, and yeah now I’m basically a cyclist. It’s a weird damn year.

Weights are starting back up this week with a narrow stance on the squats and deads to more imitate foot position on the bike. TT bike on Saturday, road on Sunday. So starts 2021. Being off the bike the last 3 weeks was sort of OK.
