Made in Japan. I think Panasonic made them for Schwinn. They were really nice bikes. I had a World Voyager, and it was, and is a great, well made road bike.

Many were made in Japan, Panasonic. Later ones elsewhere by others. Short of a photo; perhaps a ser. # but more effective is color and an account of its parts.

+ Add Voyageur 11.8 (I believe it was made by Panasonic) to the list as well.

The Passage and the Le Tour Luxe were made in Mississippi. The Voyagers of the same vintage were different frames (through the tubing was the same not counting the forks). I had always thought all of them were made in Mississippi, but maybe the Voyagers were sourced elsewhere.

My 1986 Voyageur was made in Japan, most likely by Panasonic (National), and has Columbus "Tenax" tubing, the fork is Tange chro-mo (I believe). Very solid, well made bike. Most of the parts are not original, but it weighs 26lbs, not bad for a full-on touring bike.

My 1981 Voyageur 11.8, prior to moving on to its current home. Made in Japan. I always assumed it was a Panasonic, but I am not sure.

wk101: That's almost identical to my voyageur, only I have one in red, and it has more bits and chips of paint missing Did yours also have the wacky six speed cassette rear? I had to go to the ends of the earth to find a replacement when I stripped and refurbished mine.

For now, mine has a brooks narrow, but I think I'm getting rid of that, and I believe I'm also going to palp some fenders and a rack. It's my errand and runabout bike. I rode the hell out of it all the way through college and resurrected it a couple of years ago from a mothballed, nasty state.

As an FYI I have a 1987 that I currently have broken down and can verify that on mine the fork tube is stamped Tange.

I'd like one of these to make into a vintage/beginner cyclocross bike.
