5/14: 14.3. It is hot. I was going to do about 30 miles but felt "off." I turned around in five. Then, did a few short errands via bike. Tired today.

163 for the month, 1918 for the year.

Only 39 miles today and not much of it uphill

Back on the bike after a week off due to severe hip pain.

May 14 = 16.11 miles.

MTD = 69.89 miles.

Now I'm gonna have to bust some butt to make my goal for May.

My phone crapped out for a couple of these rides so its not being reflective on my May Massive stats. I am debating about either getting a new phone or getting a garmin 500...

5/15: 33.2 through Amish country, down on the border of Iowa and Missouri. Nice, rolling hills. Courteous drivers. Great pavement. And a boat tailed grackle.

196 for the month, 1951 for the year.

My monthly Strava goal is 260 per month. But I am hoping to do 750 Kilometers for the May Massive so I can have a cool roundel. That is about double my monthly, then I am going fishing. Vegas is getting too hot for afternoon rides this time of year.

I got a ride in after doing some errands on the bike. I rode my waterfront route and got home before the rain started.

May 1 - 27km
May 5 - 14 km
May 8 - 40 km
May 10 - 41 km
May 12 - 26 km
May 15 - 26 km

MTD - 174km

I'm on track to meet or beat the miles I estimated.

Took the extra long way to work today for a total of 96.8 miles and 1,896' of climbing https://app.strava.com/activities/54439459 Steady headwind in the morning so the ride to work was slow, and darn it I was a few minutes late. Much more fun going home with a tailwind pushing me along.

So far this month have 1,134 miles on the odometer.

Didn't really feel like riding today but once I got out there my legs started pumping and everything felt good again. Parts of the ride seemed like a time trial, trying to keep my speed over 20mph for as far as possible. Most of the time when I slowed down it was either because of a hill or traffic, a good day today. Good enough to make me wish I'd gone out earlier and gone further.

May 03 - 28 miles
May 04 - 18 miles
May 07 - 30 miles
May 08 - 64 miles
May 12 - 65 miles
May 16 - 25 miles

MTD - 230 miles / 338
YTD 1218 / 3107

That is an addiction mate. Once that bug has bitten you and you accomplish it for 5 miles then you have to do it for 10, then you have to do it for 15...

Never ends.

I want to be able to do a century in under 5 hours. They have a run here every year, won't try it this year, but next is very promising.

Tell me about it. It would be nice to have a clear enough section of road to manage it for 5 miles in a single stretch, but that's not likely to happen in London. So I end up getting my speed up, cruising for a while, then having to stop for traffic lights (or some idiot reversing into the road, as happened today), then getting my speed back up again. That said at least it's an addiction that makes me healthier, unlike my passion for cake which got me into the Clydes area in the first place...

I've managed 100km in 5 hours but that's a far less impressive average speed, even though it included a brief cafe stop at the halfway point.

5/16 - 44.6 miles. I rode the Mule to Angletech to get the oil changed. The Alfine 11 hub, that is. After that I rode a rocky, technical trail through Ute Valley Park and I really noticed the difference. It pedaled easier with smooth shifting.

MTD: 527.8 miles
YTD: 2675.6 miles, 19.67 miles/day

Went out for a ride today, first time in over a week, finally a day where it wasn't raining!

May 17 - 13.8 Miles
May Total - 60.3 Miles

Am going to have to pull my finger out, getting close to the end of May and still more than a 100 Miles to go
