Hey just wanted to know if anyone could offer suggestions for a Tri or Road saddle.

I'm a stockier guy and find that the saddle that came with my QR Kilo is not the most comfortable ride. I have added the "Mr. Flitie" saddle cover which has taken the road chatter away, but still isn't as comfortable as I would like. Now that I'm logging in 1 hour to 2 hour sessions on my trainer (in Michigan the weathers cold) 5 days a week I'd like to upgrade and maximize my comfort if possible.

To help, I'm: 5'10, 208 lbs, and about a 35 inch waist.
If anyone has similar body type I'd like to hear what saddle you like.


I've read a few reviews on Specializied Body Geometry saddles, Koobi, and Selle Italia, but I'm not sure where to begin.

Any suggestions would be great.

I'm just short of 6' and 190-195, 31-32 inch waist. I put a Fizik Arione on my road bike and an Arione Tri on my tri bike; both were comfortable from day 1.

I'm about 225 and I've had good luck with the Arione on my roadie and a San Marco Azoto on my tri bike.

I'm a Clydesdale too but weight is not necessarily the main issue. Fit to and comfort for your butt is the concern. That said, some saddles have weight bearing limits.

A good start may be to get a sit bone measurement for your butt at a Specialized dealer. That will at least give you a range of saddle widths to look for and help weed out those that probably won't work for you. That's better than trial and error and will save you some $$$.

Of course, if you have an accomodating dealer in your area, he may let you test ride different saddles until you find one suitable to you butt.

I ride Selle Italia and Spezialized. I am 6'5", 224lbs.

My Tri bike I use an SLR, my mountain bike is a Flite, and my road bike is a Specialized body geometry.

All of them great sadles.
