100 Mile Plus + Club: July Edition: Insert Fire Cracker Up Bum & Lets Ride! ;)

July.... wow... seven months into the year already. Where did it all go?!?

Who's in for this month????

Simple.... post a goal that is going to be somewhat tough to reach.... and work really hard for it!

My goal for July is simply to crack 100 miles for the month.

I think that's a high enough bar seeing as I only started biking a week ago!

If I do the things I should, I'll be over 300 for the month. More specifically I want to do long rides of about 50 on three of the four weekends, and two good weeknight rides each week.

My goal is to keep my butt in the saddle; the real goal therefore is to ride what every amount I do! (June was 120.35 miles (which was also my total for the year @ the end of June))

0701 22 miles @ 12.1 mph

0702 25 miles @ 12.34 mph

0703 12.23 miles @ 10.68 mph, I was riding with my 13 (opps!) year old son who rides a bit slower than I. He will come to the dark side of speed!

0705 19.04 miles @12.85mph, took off into a headwind slowed the pace

0710 26.5 Miles @ 14.3 MPH, got to love little to no wind; I have walked twice during this time.

0711 13.03 Miles @13.06 mph

0714 13.23 Miles @12.68 mph

0715 15.03 @ 13 mph plan was to go 25 but the flat gods got me; started yesterday as I cam home. Pumped up tire appeared to hold 60 psi but 2.5 mile in flatus to the maxus! came home new tube blew that BIG TIME with a pinch flat get #2 better seated and got the other 12 miles in an hour or so later!

0716 7.03 miles @12.44 mph Ride cut short due to my son's having a issue breathing; heat issues something so rode home, got car and rack and got him off the side of the road. Thank G*d for a "mother type" who took him in their business and kept him safe and got the cooling process started. He was having to ride harder due to a derailer issue on my old specialized (a year or so older than my trek).

0717 25.25 miles @13.17 mph Kid is doing fine. Specialized at shop getting fixed, tuned up.

0722 15.11 miles @ 13.06 mph; heat has kept me in; over 100 degrees when I get off work, so no ride or walk for a few days. Did get out to walk about three and a 1/4 miles yesterday when the heat broke (80's-90s and been mid 70's-80's today)

0723 26.36 miles @13.26 MPH heat is back 93 as I type.

0724 Cut the yard; or put up suburban hay

0725 16 miles @ 12.63 mph

0731 21.09 miles @ 12.34 mph

Not bad 257 miles for July

I did 469 in June, and I'm shooting to finish a 308 mile tour by the 10th of July, so I'm going to aim for:

500 miles

It's a nice round number.

My goal for July is 300 miles. Last month I managed 245+ and have at least one 50-mile ride planned in advance for the 13th.

Well, based on my ( pitiful ) performance the past two months, I'm going to shoot for 220 miles. That should be plenty of challenge for me.

Doing my only organized ride of the year this month. https://www.deathride.com/ 125 miles and 15k ft of climbing over 5 mtn passes. Completed all 5 passes on this ride last year with 12 hrs of saddle time.

Have been hitting the hills regularly and putting in lots of miles every month this year. Goal for the month is to complete this years ride in less than 10 hours.

Well... I'm in for July.

100 miles in May, 200 in June, I've got at least one long training ride (60 - 75 miles) this week and then my century ride on 7/14, so I'll go for broke and double it again to 400 miles for July.

I actually think I may not make that, simply because I have to start ramping up the running mileage to get to my next HM, but I'll give it a shot.

Well I'm setting the bar at 500 miles again. Not feeling so warm and fuzzy that will happen. Heat and humidity, family issues and vacation end of month will do their best to hold down my riding. Not expecting to start riding till July 3rd.

300 miles total with one 40 mile ride would make me happy. Would love to work up to a century by the end of fall.

i'm in... I didn't get a single "real" ride in for june after a nice 110 in may... moving kept me out of the saddle for the first 1/2 of the month and then a death in the family cost me most of the rest of the month :-/

so I'm shooting for 125 july...

I was going to pledge 450 for July, but now I'm laid up with a missing appendix, so, I'll wait to set a goal until I get back on the bike. Good luck all.

      May 83.75
      June 180.5

I am going to go after my missed goal from this month of 450. I ended up at 360 and we had some bad weather which I dislike riding in.

July 01 (ride 1) = 8.06 miles (with my wife).
      July 01 (ride 2) = 14.43 miles.

      MTD = 22.49 miles.

Let's pop for another 350. Got a ride in today, the first time I cycled back from my dad's place. I've cycled there a couple of times but only ever done it one-way. Today it was still one-way but the other way, so to speak. Handy doing it that way as you get all the nasty hills out of the way on fresh legs rather than doing the first 60 miles or so and then hitting the hills.

      Jul 02 - 82 miles

      MTD - 82 miles / 350
      YTD - 1834 / 3107
