100 Mile Plus + Club: August Edition: Summer is winding down so let's crank it up!!

Didn't see an August edition started by chefisaac, so I thought I'd get it going.

Hard to believe August is upon us. Where is this year going??

Anyway, with the number of Summer days dwindling, it's a good time to crank up the goals.

I'll be shooting for 100 miles this month.

What say you? Let's see those goals!!

edit: drastically reduced my goal (was 250) to reflect time lost due to new job and recurring hip problems.

Shooting for 300 miles this month, and if I can make a "stretch goal" it's 350. Depends on how much I commute, but if I do every day that I think I can I'd have 430 miles just commuting. Hoping for some long weekend road rides too.

8.1 - 24 miles

This months goal is 250 and 250 for me. 250 miles and get down to 250 pounds. Also the small ring has been outlawed for this month, if I want up it I'll just have to push a little harder.

8-1 - 10 miles

I have a bike tour coming up where we will be doing about 300 miles. After the tour ends in mid august I have relatives visiting for a couple of weeks and am going to take a bike vacation. So, I guess my goal is roughly 375 for half the month.

This month I'm going to try and set a goal that's a bit more challenging than last month...let's go with 450 km since I managed 350 in July.

I'm going to go for 350km this month. I did almost 500km in July but I have to work more hours for vacation relief this month so might not be able to get many long rides in.

Shooting for 300-Miles again this month, after coming up 11.8 miles short last month. I have another 50+ mile ride planned for the 11th of August, weather-permitting of course.

Looking at the forecast, this month's not starting out too well, 80% rain predicted for today.

Going to try for another 350, plus the 2 from last month I think I was short (although another site where I record fractions of miles clocked me at 349.7, but whatever)

MTD 0/352
YTD 2100/3107

I'll be shooting for 600 this month.

I just got back on the bike in July after being burnt out in the beginning of the year. I tried coming back every now and then and would be on and off the bike since January. I'm back on the bike for good now. In the month of July, I hit 445.4 miles. The magic number this month is 600.

I'm shooting for 180 miles

last month I managed my 125 with ease despite the bike not fitting great and being without for about a week due to some issues on the new build... yesterday I got the new bike up and ready to ride though... I would put the miles up a little higher but I've got classes starting mid month as do my kids so schedule is going to be difficult :-/...

I've got a couple 100 mile weeks, not as many as I'd like.

On the upside, I'm 1/2 way to 250.

Max lifts fell more then my weight... Redoubling my resistance to losing strength.

July was not as productive as I had hoped it would be (injuries have slowed me down, accounting for some low speed garbage miles), but here it goes:

July: 835 miles

YTD: 4500 miles

Best day in July was 62 miles with over 4300 feet of climbing.

I hope that August turns out to be a bit better.

I haven't participated in the 100 Mile Club before, but this month I'm going for 200 miles.

I got a good start with 15.3 miles this morning. It was cool, but the wind was blowing 20 to 30mph and I had to use some very low gears when going against the wind AND going uphill.

I'm over 60 and overweight, so wish me luck!

Hope to reach 200+ miles this month July was 257

0801 15.5 miles @ 13.33 mph

Well I have not been on a bike for awhile so the goal of 200 miles ain't going to happen unless I get some major rides in in the next 15 days.

0826 17.34 miles @12.85 mph. Back on the bike and the 200 will not happen. Rain which keeps me from biking or walking and cooler temps which allows me and Bear the wonder dog to walk has kept me off the bike. We will see what the next few days brings!!

0827 22.11 miles at 11.56 mph a bit slower the than norm but with the hills (also not the norm) and a tri directional head wind not bad!

0828 15.45 miles 13.02 mph on Bkiejournal.com's journal thing and my bike said thing says 12.9 there is usually abt a .05 difference but not usually a .12!?! Oh well I rode 15.45 miles at whatever speed!

Aug 1 - 17.48

first real ride on the disc trucker and first real ride in over a week thanks to the down time with the damaged frame... felt good to be back out riding... it was HOT out... with the new bike I decided I would dump the camel bak and go with bottles and a bag to carry the few important things I need.... I haven't used bottles as my only source of fluid seince the 90's so that was a little odd... I stopped at mile 11 to fill the empty bottle and top off the 2nd... I'll need a 3rd bottle for sure when it gets to longer rides

MTD - 17.48 Miles/ 180 Miles
MTG - 162.52 miles

Yeehaw I'm in. First time on a bike in 20 years so I better just start with 101 miles. Not sure how sore I am going to get these next few weeks.
