Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's not all of how they prioritize it, or food and agricultural workers wouldn't be in Phase 1b.

Pretty sure it's not a 1:1 scaling.

I guess it varies by state. Here utilities would presumably not be for another two or three months.

I had to put a battery in my three year old Odyssey, also $180. While shopping around, I was told that new cars have a lot of electronics and just opening the driver's door energizes a lot of different systems even before the car is started. I was warned against leaving doors open and to avoid using the accessories position with the motor off. Since I got this story from several sources, I have to assume it's true.

Not germane to your post, but every source told me that Honda batteries were junk and don't buy one as a replacement.

Given what we see in Texas today, I'd suggest the people who drew this up had their heads up their asses.

One last time. Vaccine priority is not based on importance to society. It's based on (1) vulnerability to deadly COVID (old, sick people), and (2) likelihood one might spread it to (1).

If ls01 is working on electric lines inside nursing homes, he would be one of the first to be vaccinated. But if he works on lines out in empty fields, not so much.

Not a Honda tech but GM cars do "wake up" several modules when the door is opened but this is not a problem as they will all go to sleep before the battery runs down.
You can use the acc position for a while but it may draw more current than older non computerized cars. Just don't overdo it.
GM cars also have accessory power which remains on for 15 minutes after you turn off the key, provided you don't open the door.

Interestingly enough I can’t get the vaccine and I think I am essential. At this point in time I am convinced I am immune and or it just didn’t affect me. My wife has us on a waiting list but I am not holding my breath.

All of the batteries I replaced on electric cars were under warranty. I did price out a battery for customer pay for a Volt and I think it was around $8000. We did take them apart and replace parts inside the batteries. There are 96 lithium ion cells in a Volt battery and they are arranged in 3 sections which can be replaced separately. There are also control modules and other stuff in there which can be serviced.

large variances in daily temperatures and conditions are normal here. It's called living in a maritime climate, on a group of islands. no big deal. though we don't get the really freezing temperatures that Why-fi gets. Our usual winter low is around freezing (proper).
