Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What are you supposed to do with them when you’re on a ride. Can’t always stop and look for a trash can. Would probably have four or five before coming to one.

Thats how it is here. There are so many nice days, even through the winter, that it’s hard to punish yourself with cold, wet and wind.

I've run in to this this week, too. If I wouldn't have hesitated on Thursday, I could have gotten out on a short ride in sunny, mid-30s conditions, something I would have jumped at two weeks ago.

... but it just felt cold and unpleasant after the mid-60s last week, and I dragged my feet until I didn't have the time anymore.

I got 8 miles in this week, is there a chance I'm on the podium?

If you smoke straights you can field strip them.

Yep. Grocery stores were empty, end of world supplies were being bought, hell, I even double checked to make sure the generator fired up.

It's getting tiresome.

There's a reason they put pockets on jerseys.

We are under 5 inches of rain for the season. Luckily we steal our water from the Owens Valley and Colorado River.

Strip them and re-roll them into Zig Zags. Makes the smoke extra nasty, though. BTDT.

And please don’t throw cigarette butts in the urinals. It makes them soggy and hard to light.

which never made any sense to me when I used to fly from Needles to Barstow. All the water that just evaporates out into the desert air.

I just saw my friends at work getting smoke breaks, so I figured that was a good deal and reason enough to give it a whirl. For the most part, I only did group rides was only a social smoker, but there was that brief period where I'd ride light up solo, too.

I’m with Bam. Have never smoked a tobacco product even though I grew up around lots that did. When I moved to Dallas, it seemed like nobody smoked. That was one of the things that convinced me to stay. Since moving here, I’ve not had a single friend who smoked.
