2007 Diamondback Sorrento - pedal thread size?

First time visitor thanks in advacne for any assistance. With the COVID going on, it has spurred many of us occasional riders to ride even more, which is great because I forgot how much I missed riding.
I managed to break the pedal off my 2007 Diamondback Sorrento which normally Id give it over to a shop to fix, but everything is shut down and tried to deal with it myself.
Thanks to some other posts I thought I have an easy time...but I am not.

I have purchased the correct left arm crank XCC 175 and a puller, however Im having a heck of a time finding the right pedal thread size.

The pedal I ordered is the correct make/shape of the broken pedal but the thread size I received is too small to match the XCC 175.
I bought a VP Components VP-518S Alloy ATB Pedal 1/2" Black/Cage

What thread size do I need to fit the XCC 175 crank arm? I did check the Suntour website but does not state pedal crank thread size.

And if you know the thread size any recommendations on decent pedals so I don't break another off? I am 240lbs.

thanks

9/16"-20
Left hand thread.
typically, 1/2" is found on cheaper or older bikes with 1 piece cranks.

You need pedals with 9/16-20 threads, or just 9/16". Did you break the pedal, the crank arm or did you strip out the threads? Stripped threads are generally caused by insufficient installation torque.
