Despite the legacy of the brand, Colnago has produced mid-priced bikes. My race bike in 2003-2004 was an aluminum Colnago frame that was comparable price-wise to other mid-level aluminum race frames of the day. I still have this bike...

Cinelli's blue cork bar tape used to be exactly Mapei blue, and a perfect match for this frame. The current Cinelli blue is different, and not a match. The tape on it in this pic isn't right, either. The FSA tape on it currently is closer, but not quite there. I'm giving up on blue and looking for white cork embossed with "Colnago". It's out there.

I'm also hoping the GP 5000 S TR's are slightly easier to mount when I try some of those.

Mounting those GP 5000 TL's on those Lightbicycle rims is a pain in the posterior.
That photo was from early 2020 as we finished the build, so I'm not sure if the current tyres are better aligned or not
I'm also hoping the GP 5000 S TR's are slightly easier to mount when I try some of those.

The first generation GP5000TL we outright refused to install on some varieties of wheels at the shop they were so difficult to mount. Like, it took 3 people and a lot of swearing. Got a few sets in and stopped stocking them until they fixed the issue. It's been a while but IIRC some manufacturers even explicitly stated that the tires were not compatible with their rims.
No issues with the new 5000TR.

FWIW I didn't have much trouble mounting these. They were tight but a couple flips with a tire lever and on they went. I did go from a 28mm TL on the front to a 25mm TR as when I went on gravel some dirt would rub the fork sometimes. Zero issues on the back with 28mm and YES the front is now pointing in the correct direction.

Damn Continental tires ^^^ . I am not fan for a number of reasons, mounting issues being one.
It befuddles me why Continental has such a loyal following . People come into the shop on a regular basis complaining about how they cannot fix a flat because they cannot remove / reinstall the tire... yet they continue to use those dreadful Continental tires

If you wanna talk about a PITA tire, WTB exposure 36mm with a Hunt limitless 42 gravel. That gets my blood pressure going just thinking about it.

Good taste with it being Colnago and Campy 11. However (there is always a "however"), I hope your saddle has since been adjusted properly, the gold chain kills the vibe, adjust your shifters more parallel to the ground (other adjustments may be needed for comfort), and get some compact drops.

Nice to see a bike with those wheels. I used them for about 12 years, never broke a spoke or needed to true them. They were fast.

I raced these a lot. A couple of broken spokes, but they were repaired easily enough.

One of my road rigs that I've been on for a while. Some of you with a keen eye will notice a part that almost stopped me from finishing this build if I couldn't find it. It was very important and I couldn't compromise LOL.
