Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I know "car guys" in the snowy climates that have separate wheels/tires for summer and winter. Typically, the winter set is not as wide (especially the rears), but they also don't want the salt and crap messing up the finish on the good summer wheels.

Mrs BD switches to snows (tires only) every winter. I never did, i’m retired, so if the snow gets too deep for my 4WD I’m not going anywhere anyway. The last couple of years there’s been little need for snows or 4WD in this joke of a winter.

Not Roscoe but a cute, recently adopted dog that was at the shelter. Someone has given him a forever home and he will return the favor by giving unconditional love.

My first motorcycle, at 16, was the flattrack version of this, a Hornet. No lights or mufflers. My first car was an MGTD. I soon learned to avoid British vehicles.

I don’t see it at all.
Oh, you mean the one upthread. Same.
And, sad as it is to say, I doubt I will ever be easy with the pronoun ‘they’ when referring to a single person. It just rubs me the wrong way, though I fully understand why it is used. It is something I might have used once, in my rebellious ute.

I got my first two this year. An iPad and then a phone. I got the phone in the hope of it being more durable than the androids I’ve had. I got the iPad because it appeared my Chromebook died an early death, and I didn’t want to go down that road again. Turned out to be only an ‘upgrade’ . After the next upgrade it was fine again.

My Dad used to take me slot car racing. I won a Honda S65 there (sweepstakes, not from skill). My Mom said no way your riding a motorcycle. A few years later she OK'd that ^.

At 18 I started racing motocross. My first bike was a Maico 400, back when there were no mufflers. First time I started it in the driveway, it scared the crap out of her.

Everything deciduous is turning green. The maples are leafing out, flowers are starting to poke their heads out, St. Augustine grass is greening. It's spring time!
