Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Everybody that has these rims has to relearn how to install a tire and tube.

Or take it as a sign that you need to go tubeless.

also Vredie Tri-comps... I have some kendas I like a lot, they are a bear to get on and off on every wheelset... No real experience with the Michelins of the last 2-3 yrs...

Nope, just you.

I can't not read your posts in this thread in a British accent in my head. Makes it amusing.

I have the same wheels and although challenging to mount not impossible. What I discovered is that by re adjusting the tire makes the mounting a lot easier. Wire bead tires are a little more challenging than folding to mount.

Hopefully, although if I were you I would just take it to the shop. Get a tube from them and pay a few quid to get it installed. You'll be rolling on your new wheels today instead of having to wait a few days for another tube to be delivered, plus no sore thumbs. Also, it will get easier to install the tires once they have been mounted for a while.

thanks PepeM for the reply,
ah to be honest now im pretty experience rider i know how to fit tyres and build a bike, but these tyres on the ultegra wheels are the hardest i've ever come across i my life.
in my local group im the one they all come running too when things go belly up.
hopefully the tyres will stretch over a few spins ,i live i hope.

Got a thorn puncture about 50 miles in with a new set of Contis on these wheels. Not all that second time around difficult....certainly not compared to the new install. Trusty Pedro levers don't work well with these, tho. Too thick.

Not only surprised, but also surprised to find out that there are still new Pro Race 3 tires on retailers' shelves evidently.

Performance Bike is having a clearance sale on the Michelin Pro 3 Race tires. I picked up two and they had quite a few in the store.
