New England Cycling Trip Advice (RideWithGPS link inside)

Hi,

Myself and a few friends are doing a bike tour this week on the East Coast Greenway. The full route is here:
https://ridewithgps.com/events/36786-...all-done-mikes
Taking MetroNorth Rail -> Shore Line East Rail -> New London -> Start of bike trip

Does anybody have any advice on places to go for fun, roads to avoid or things that we should watch out for?

PS: We cannot extend the trip, it would have to be 9 days.

Thanks!

Rhode Island publishes a cycling road map, with input from my bike club, showing all the roads suitable for riding. It is available free at any bike shop. I live in Bristol, R.I. and ride frequently in the area west of the Sakonnet River extending to west to Dartmouth. It is flat with many country roads and light or moderate traffic. I especially like the roads that pass by Buzzards Bay. If you get to Bristol, send a PM.

Did the bike path the crosses the whole state of RI W to E 2 years ago. Not every bridge is bike friendly in RI.

This post may be totally useless as you may have already planned everything, but why not take a ferry from PTown to Boston and then ride south from there? I'd do that instead of doubling back...
