Your memory seems to be as bad as mine! Here's your other post, still on the first page. https://www.bikeforums.net/cyclocros...n-10r-11r.html Think you had some others as well.

Maybe when they made it they didn't have the new 11r stickers printed yet, so they used 10r ones. I mean, it isn't 2018 yet, so....

Talk to the shop that you bought it at...
Call, email, tweet, facebook message Specialized...
if all else fails, get Lennard Zinn involved.

Would make sense, wouldn't it? Apparently not something OP is interested in.

I googled some photos, they all appear to show 10r. 2017 was labeled on the outside of the chain stay, not the inside of the seat stay, so they were definitely 2018 that I saw pictures of.

So your frame goes to eleven.

Nigel Tufnel would approve.

'S-Works' frameset = $2800

Crux Sport w/ the same 11r frame and 105 hydraulic groupset = $2800

I'd be surprised if it was. As stated above, it very well could be the same carbon fabric, but the layup, where the fabric was placed, other fabrics used, etc. could be different between the two. It would not surprise me at all to find out that the S-Works is a hundred to couple hundred grams lighter, maybe imperceptibly stiffer BB, etc.

The 10r, 11r is just marketing crap anyway. In reality they are using the same carbon fiber that Hongfu is using in their cheap frames from China. The difference is the engineering in the design and layup of the bike, and similar to open mold frames, while the two Crux's may share the same mold and carbon, how they're built may be wildly different.

If the frames were different, they'd be marketing the advantage of the more expensive one, eg. Tarmac SL6 UL. I'd be more inclined to believe that the website is wrong. Them producing a 2018 Crux 10r sticker and using it in production (or them using 11r material in a $2800 bike), all being a mistake, is likely than someone putting the wrong info on the website. 10r, 11r is probably the same material as Trek uses for OCLV 600, 700 or what's used in Chinese frames, but the grades do differ from from each other. Agreed that same materials will produce very different results based on the engineering. It's a main reason that I prefer to buy carbon bikes from the larger manufacturers (eg. ones that race their bikes in the world tour). They have the resources and expertise to develop the best products.

a long time ago a friend bought a brand new caad 9 with a threaded bb that had a huge BB30 logo on the bottom of the shell. i dont think that bike was ever sold with a bb30 crank but factory mistakes happen.
