Just curious, what would you consider to be your Holy Grail? Your Holiest of Holy'?
Mine? Either an old De Rosa or an early Schwinn Paramount.

well... it was a Hetchins but I seem to have scratched that from the list and along the way I picked up a nice Funny bike, and a SP frame so I don't think I really need a SLX frame.
OMG maybe I don't have a grail bike left!!!!
I would like something realy funky and useless a nice Tandem 700c of course or an old school recumbent.. I believe Vanguard is the brand with the super long wheelbase and under seat steering. however since I live on the second floor both of these are very impractical.

A Schwinn Paramount,ideally in chrome is my Grail.
More attainable would be a Raleigh International/Competition/Gran Sport.

C&V grail was an MX Leader. Now that I have one I'm lusting after a Primato...

A 1994 Tommasini Sintesi could be arranged.
I have one built with 10 speed Chorus that will be available after the first of the year.
About a 57cm.
Don't like modern Chorus?

59cm Red Masi Gran Criterium with full Campy 50th
This bike was actually on ebay a year ago in pristine condition. It was also within driving distance. I hesitated to bid on it because I literally just bough another vintage bike a week prior for a lot of money........The bid price never met reserve and the seller was moving out of country, I wonder whatever happened to it??
If it were still available today I would have definitely gave it my best effort to get it.

I'm over the grail thing, which isn't to say there aren't bikes I still would love to have, but there are no particular things I want above all others. I'd like to try a Cinelli SC, I'd love to get my hands on a lugged Waterford 953, I'm very interested in trying DI2, and Campy's electronic system and a Hetchins would definitely head my list of stuff I'd dig. Passoni titanium has been in the back of my mind since seeing Citoyen's.
It's not a grail, but the bike I'm most interested in right now is a Pugsley...I think it would be different, fun and distinct from anything else I have. Being realistic, is a 70's SC likely to ride as well for me as the bikes I have? No. Do I really need ANOTHER road bike, regardless of how cool? Not really. I don't think bikes get too much better than a TK Merlin, a Marnati or Sachs.
If I could build another dream bike with unlimited funds:
titanium sports tourer/all day bike with fender/rack eyelets, titanium racks, SS couplers, Campy's upcoming electronic system (assuming it works well), Campy 10sp silver record hubs, 10sp silver calipers, record ti seatpost, ti rail B-17, and no decals. Totally naked.

+2. I don't mind working, and I like my location (downtown Detroit near the Detroit River) but I would like working my job from home, which is entirely possible (I'm in IT).
